Ships Type-10 Released!

It seems like the T10 is what the T9 should have been as a multirole ship; sort of the Lakon equivalent of the Anaconda. I think it would make a worthwhile trader or even an explorer. Not sure about hunting insectoid vermin yet (have to try it out so the Jury's out on that one). The T10 is a little underwhelming at first, but I hope it gets better with Engineering. Oh God, more grind...

Uh, I just redocked my T10 to count the internals again thinking I could have made a mistake, but no I'm still counting the normal stock nine internals the T9 has, with an additional two C5 military slots?

I mean, I've not flown my T9 in awhile, but I could have sworn thats what the T9 had as well? Minus the two C5 mil slots of course?

Free additional c8 slot for the T-9! Make it so, FD!

It's also possible that that's the amount of cargo he's missing over the type 9 (a C4 cargo rack carriers 16 tons), which is explained by the fact you can use a C5 shield minimum on a type 9, but the minimum for a type 10 is a C6.

I am over a day away and wanted to see if it is worth the hype and head back to purchase with my data.

What is the cargo capacity? Is it better than an Anaconda but not as good as a type 9?

The way I see it, a lot of complaints in this thread are along the lines, "The T10 isn't good at something it wasn't designed for". That would only be a problem for a multirole ship. Not only is the Type 10 designed for one particular role (fighting Thargoids), it's aimed at fulfilling that role in one particular way (slow, tough gun platform).

The Type 10 will be mine tomorrow after I've piled up a few more credits.
The problem to me seems to be that it is too niche, and at the same time not niche enough? It’s stupidly expensive, and yet underperforms to its own price class even at the role it was designed for. I keep comparing it to the anaconda, but it’s not unfair to do so since the specifications are roughly the same. Other than hull hardness, which is the only thing it will be better at thus reducing damage to hull probably by roughly 17%, it really has no advantages as far as I can tell. Its class 8 slot is largely useless as far as I can tell since it can sustain a c8 biweave, the only type of shield it would want, and its hull is only fractionally higher than the anaconda. And the anaconda still has shields :(

As long as its pd gets an upgrade to c7 nobody will complain I think. Lots of people like the type 9 and variants.

It does indeed, at least according to the wiki. I wonder why so many here are posting incorrect stats? Thanks for the info

Ah, I don't know what was posted but yeah I was just going off what I was seeing on my brand new T10.

I'm trying to think of a reason to not sell my T9 now, but I can't think of one....

Hm, is it just me or does the T10 really hate Gravity ?

Did a few 1.x g Approaches onto Planetary Bases - and oh boy, that rig takes forever to break any sinkrate. Especially its forward Thrusters seem to be quite weak, they have a really hard time slowing the Ship.

Explorers building one for their purposes might want to do a few practice landings under those conditions.

(stock 7A Thrusters, still on my way to Palin to fix that)

Not sure about the Internal count, as I do all this on my phone and it makes everything tricky, but I think you are right.
So, where does the difference in cargo come? With the 9 I can fit 5A Shields, throw on some boosters if I want, and get 300+ shields. More then enough to submit, boost, and high(low wake) out. With the T10 I can't use 5 shields because of the 1200t I am guessing. Therefore I end up with less cargo capacity.

TBH I haven't made a detailed study as ED Shipyard is tricky to do on my phone and a Corolis hasn't added the T10 yet.
I did go thru the process once for the T10 on ED Shipyard and I wasn't not impressed in particular with the high cost of the 10. Less cargo for a nothing speed increase and a couple of LY jump is hardly worth it with the money plus the ability to Engineer the 9. Even un-Engineered the 9 seems a better ship for trading.

But the T10 wasn't designed as a trader so no sweat, no burn, no complaints. If it was then we can get all fired up about the T10 Keelback.

If you are one ship per type guy then you'd probably be better upgrading. I have T9 miners and freighters spread all over the populated galaxy (along with many other ships) I see no point in replacing the T9's, they will still perform adequately, will use some for spare parts for a few T-10's

I decided to stick to my "rules" and have upgraded my conda before buying another ship. As such I am now broke with 10 mil in the bank and flying my asp scout as I have no insurance for the conda (military armour is pricy and I can't even consider above that !!!)

As such can anyone tell me is there ANY difference between t9 and t10 cockpit (even if only small like cobra 3 to 4) or is it a cut and paste like the viper 3 to viper 4?.

Thanks

500T in the Type-10. Nice. :)

And those two military slots, so the hull can be tanked more to be able to run 4A, maybe even 3A Shields with Engineering.

Just a little more damage to pay for after submitting and then escaping.

From videos it looks like a lighting change, more blue on the T-10 Bridge. no other change
