Type 6 - To boldly go

You know, chaps, this may turn into a thing. I am working my back to the Bubble via the Sagitta-Carina Arm. Not sure when I'll dock and data-dump of the exploration findings. Let me have a look about in the Galaxy Map and see what might be a tempting RP. I'll open up a new thread in a few days and see if we can all agree on a system and date!

If we arrange it for somewhere far, far away in, say, a year's time then we could make sure we are all in that region of Space for the meeting. If I know where I need to be next summer then I can plan my flight accordingly.

If planning far ahead, then why not the obvious: the birthday of this thread, 20th of February? :)

20 February sounds good. 2018...or 2019, though? [smile]

We Deep-Space Explorers have long planning horizons, or perhaps more truthfully, I fly in a "relaxed" style!

Oh most certainly 20th Feb, 3304, I think!

I've been looking down the Sagitta-Carina Arm following Corbin Moran's post regarding the Silentium region. And now I am wondering that is an area where we can plan a celebration of the Lakon Type 6E and her intrepid Commanders? It's remote, forbidding, relatively uncharted, and the name conjures up mystery and danger.

Could we make this a target RP in general and then narrow down a POI inside to make for? Are there any Type 6E Commanders here who have visited the Silentium region and know of a good candidate?

I heard rumour of a T6E meet-up, so thought I'd pop-in and say 'me too' :D

Need to power Enquiring Minds back up sometime soon and see where we are... ;)

Sounds exciting, never been there myself so far...

Great, and reassuring to know we have a Fuel Rat coming along ;-)

Agreed. Any suggestions? I am working my way back to the Bubble but once there would love an excuse to head off towards an unknown area.

I am in a fairly standard Type-6 (can jump about 15LY at a time) and very very slowly making my way to Colonia. Am about half way there now, just making the trip between Eagle's Landing and Gagarin Gate.

Had a rough time for a bit after leaving Eagle's Landing, was surrounded by brown dwarves at first. Also took a small hit when arriving in a system that dropped me right in the middle or three brown dwarves with almost no room to escape out from them :O

3,000LY to go for Gagarin Gate, then it will be on to Colonia and after that Sag A* :D

Hoping to reach Colonia by the end of the week, lol

Keep going, Cmdr. With the finest ship in the fleet under your feet, I am confident you will make it.

I, too, am heading into Colonia this week. Heading in from a different direction to you...I am coming in from the "west"; a long-delayed return after the Mercury 7 Expedition. 3 kylies left to go. If I see you at the weekend I will send you a cheery wave ...from a stranded youngster?...more likely from an old bloke coming in way too fast (1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 and 1-2-3-4-5-6-and on you go).

Take care

Flying happily

Hello again, fellow T6E commanders,

Just yesterday I made my way back to Deciat and gave Felicity a biiiig pile of exploration data in exchange for some serious tuning. Unfortunately I am still missing essential components for grade 4 and 5 FSD upgrades...
After dumping about 80 Millions worth of research data to get me in favour with some minor factions I made the bold decision to visit the Eurybia system to make some backdoor dealings. Of course I ignored all the red lights indicating the anarchy status of the system and jumped in. After dodging 2 or 3 interdiction attempts I managed to get to the local mafias home turf and cashed in some more data to grease the wheels for futur dealings with some certain infamous individuals. All well and good so far.

Unfortunately a less than honorable commander in his Fer-de-Lance had decided to hunt close to the station grounds in this anarchic system. And when I exited the station I did not even make it to the jump zone, before my T6 was blown to bits together with a guestimated 200 million worth of exploration data still on the computer. Maybe he got trigger crazy because he can't go anywhere in his ship :D Luckily the ejection seat worked and that commander hat lost interest in the smoldering wreckage very quickly.

So lesson learned: Do not bring your T6 to an anarchic system. That is the hunting ground of crazies who just want to see the world burn - or an unarmed T6 for that matter...I really have to get another ship for the bubble...

But I took heart and already kitted out a new T6 and as soon as I have all the necessary upgrades done, I also would be ready for that party out in the black.

Sorry for your loss, Cmdr. I felt my ship cry out...

I love your signature tag...Lakon Type-6 DSEV! Has a nice feel.

Flying happy

T-6E (couldn't use it though...not yet)

I made it to Colonia!

Wow, there's some fun places to explore here, and enough different populated systems to actually make money trading and stuff.

I even managed to upgrade my sensors and FSD now. I can go 18LY per jump instead of 15LY! :D

I'm going to relax in Colonia for a day or two before heading out to Sag A* for the final leg of the journey.

Got some quality exploration time sneaked in between paperwork. Couple piccies from the awesome cockpit of T-6E:

Still trying to figure a good suggestion for the T-6E rally. I'm thinking west. Not much traditional traffic to that rim I'd gather, or has Colonia changed that trait?
