UA Mystery thread 4 - The Canonn

I have more or less followed this thread (less because of the sheer amount of posts) so excuse my naive question but has anyone ever tried to see if the sounds could be associated with some insects, since I think I've read that the Thargoids (I'm assuming these UAs are associated with them) are an insectoid race?

I didn't say it in my video for the sake of trying not to sound like a bafoon... lol... BUT... the "vocals" I "think" I hear... and this is going to hard to explain for anyone who's NOT played it... but the vocals sound like those of WoW-MoP... In the Valley of Four Winds, doing the event at the wall.... you've got that HUGE beetle (been a while, don't remember names) that's breaking through the wall. When you get punted into the beetle by that one farmer's kodo-like beast.. and your inside the bug... punching it... you hear what sounds like voices in your head, whispers and whatnot... THAT is what the "vocals" remind me of. (I know, your all like...HUH?) So.. yeah. :D

*edit*

Not sure about how many different sounds here are off the top of my head, and I've only picked up UAs in an Asp so far... I'll go back out here later this evening after I get my (graphics file) settings sorted out properly, will take a good look with an Asp, DBE, Conda, and then maybe a Hauler for good measure. I'll do both a floater and then jettisoned for comparison. I want to say that I thought there were 4 unique "loud" sections, or it was 4 loud per loop but only 3 were unique.... again I'm not sure, I'll have to go out and do some more hunting to be certain.

Anybody know if there's a limit to the amount of UAs CMDR can find?

I was just about to show my friend mine and he flew through it lol.

WOOMF! I've been laughing my socks off, wanted one for months, got one last night... Now my little toxic Thargoid pet is deaded :(

Still laughing though, he face palmed. I heard it through the headset lol

No, there's no known limit......get 'em whilst they're plentiful a bit like hamsters, easily replaceable, just a tad more toxic. No proof that their of thargoid origin though, err UAs I mean.

Yeah, as I just found out :)

Found one on my way to Merope again. In Hyades Sector HR-V B2-3. My lucky day - two in eighteen hours!

Quite why any CMDR would want two of these toxic little beasties in their hold is madness, good job they're not like Trumbles, eh!?

So warky got worse, but 49 Ari is still the same? Anyone know if and how they were treated differently (UA sales)? And there are no health issues this week? Anywhere? UA radiation = miracle cure for disease and hunger? Are these just fancy cases of alien nutella?
The problems in Warky simply started earlier than in Ari. It's quite possible Ari is gonna follow its example soon enough.

Chilling with another UA at Merope. You would have thought that as they point at Merope, bringing them thee would do something? Nope.

Well the last station problem update included worsening conditions at warky and 49 ari. As if they were both reaching the next checkpoint of 'uh-oh' together, warky was just ahead. Since 49 ari isn't there yet, its very possible they are worsening at different rates.

OK, After my friend flew through the last one, we travelled out and I found one. Then, SC'ing from the star, about 50LS away, I found ANOTHER. Have two now.

Both found in Hyades Sector HR-V B2-3.

Two toxic Thargoid pets! I better be good to these ones...

I understand it this way:
1. Post: Warky goes wonky
2. Post: Ari goes wonky. Warky upgrades to level 2 wonkiness
3. Post: Warky increases wonkiness to level 3

Acting on a hunch that a technological rare commodity might hold the cure for the problems in 49 Arietis and Warkushanui, I have just delivered some of the following items to Gaiman Dock, 49 Arietis:
AZ Cancri Formula 42
Havasupai Dream Catcher
HIP Organophosphates
Xihe Biomorphic Companions
Jaradharre Puzzle Box
Toxandji Virocide
From the descriptions, HIP Organophosphates and Toxandji Virocide seem like the sort of items that might be effective against biological-based technology but it's just guesswork. I don't have time to be on again until tomorrow, or perhaps the weekend, but in hindsight Soontill Relics might also be worth a try. I do wonder what sort of environment the Jaradharre Puzzle Box would devise if it scanned a UA, though...

Is there a bug to do with atmospheric systems (i.e. within a station)?

Been sat here for a while looking at "Toxic Cargo Corrosion : [X]" messages, and all the systems are still all 100%. I've got two of the little UAs in my hold and all systems still at 100%.

If it's not a bug, must be a feature lol: perhaps this is something to do with breathable atmospheres?

Do you think this is intended by FD?

Well here we are thread number 4, after 100's of tests and theories ,1800 pages a million biscuits and several miles of tinfoil and more to come.
I feel it in my bones that this will be the last thread we will need to solve this lil mystery and then we will have to find another one to solve and on that note i hope that FD try and build more of these types of things into the game because at the end of the day there are a lot of Nerds, armchair scientists and general smart people playing this game this thread proves that.

While docked, you are immune to damage. Same with toxic waste, nothing special

First time posting to this thread. I have read Wiki and more than I care to admit on these 4 threads. I have not seen where communication using

Mathematics was used. If so disregard the rest of this post. Mathematics is supposed to be universal. CETI a branch of SETI have been known to

transmit Prime numbers and atomic numbers of certain elements in order to show some kind of intelligence. I’m sure most have seen Close Encounters of the

Third Kind and Independence Day, with the flashing lights and musical tones. The UA is flashing lights and making tones of its own. I was

wondering if anyone has tried using Morse Code to send a transmission or flash Morse Code using ship lights to broadcast prime numbers or

something similar so I don't waste time doing something that has already been tried. Fly safe.

Has no-one ever thought how it actually points at Merope? Unless this is a living thing, which it most likely isn't, it's not just going to appear and orient itself to Merope by magic. How does it know where to point? And why has it suddenly just started pointing there? The answer is because it's collecting co-ordinate data for the systems in the bubble and using the data to figure out where Merope is, and points at it.

But why? Well, have you ever noticed that the ship drawing and Merope-pointing-atting only began a while after it was discovered they emitted Morse code? Have you also noticed that between 1.2 and 1.4, UA spawn rates have massively increased? These things are probes that are being manufactured more and more, being spread out into deep space to collect co-ordinate data from various systems, and then using that data to figure out where Merope is and broadcast all the things it gathers to something there.
However - why does it point at the star when you're in Merope? Surely signals aren't being broadcast into the damn star? Well, we all know that Thargoids live in Hyperspace which is an alternate universe. Maybe it's pointing to the Witch Space equivalent to Merope's location which just so happens to be a Thargoid stronghold.

I think most of us already know what the UA is - it's a probe and that's without a doubt, it can't be anything else. Our new objective is to find out who is behind this whole thing and to find out we might just have to play the waiting game and wait until this station is shipped off (no pun intended) to the Pleiades. I think we should help our friend Ishmael Palin and deliver a bunch of these things to Christian Dock - it's like a CG in disguise. FDev could be testing our ability to think for ourselves and band together as a community to achieve a goal without them telling us what to do, and that's the whole point of this mystery.

So guys, bring a bunch of these things to Professor Palin at Christian Dock. He could use all the help he can get. Even if that involves the station shutting down.

Has to be those pesky Thargoids, hope so because their ships looked awesome in the original game.

I have already started to stack emergency items of food and supplies in my flat to prepare for a Thargoid invasion lol

If these things point at Merope, then surely Merope holds some hidden stuff or is key to something. Am I right to assume a lot of commanders have explored Merope and found nothing?

Guys, how many UAs have we gotten together in the same ship? I know I've seen what... 12 UAs in one instance dropped by different commanders? What would happen if I got like, oh I don't know, a 100 of them in my shiny new python? Anyone want to try?

Mathematics is supposed to be universal. CETI a branch of SETI have been known to

transmit Prime numbers and atomic numbers of certain elements in order to show some kind of intelligence.

While possibly entirely unrelated, in the last UA Thread I toyed around with Anagrams (as Frontier apparently likes to use them) and applied them to System- or Sector Names.

Timocani, AFAIK the first System in which UAs were ever discovered... (inside Federation Convoys in Strong Signal Sources).
Anagram of "Timocani" = "Atomic In" (Indium in the Periodic Table of Elements, #49).

I haven't applied that to other System- or Sector labels where UAs or related anomalies specifically appeared though (i.e. Cerberus plague/Station Service anomalies).
