Two things, and sorry if they were mentioned and I missed them:

1) If we need an FAS for scanning, I have one and am getting close to a Gunship (next rank, and done a lot of missions towards it).
2) If they're missing letters, seems like if we can find the "correct" missing ones we might spell something out. No idea if that's even logical in terms of the graphing.

Yes please Corlas a scan of a FAS and a FGS would be most welcome it will give us all of the base ships we will then only need the alternate versions of ships and what ever turns up in the next update.
Well Rizal has said that that missing letters are just not there ( good enough for me ) so the missing letters and the extra one for the Anacoda may well mean something else.
I will have a look in the morning ( gonna change it up no tea going for wine and Garibaldi to replace the Hobnobs, see where that gets me) wanna get suited up get in game have to meet up with Irongut and get a scan of his Imp Eagle (if i can get a UA to him without it escaping as i have no repair module) this is if i can workout how to rtecord with sound off of a rift setup.

Currently in an Orca with a UA in my hold heading back to Varati will record outside Bond Hub and put vid up for Riz to decode. I don't think it was drawing my ship when I picked it up in Wolf 221 the morse was too short.

Edit: If I can get shadowplay to record sound :(
Have you tired OBS to record with sound.

Yes, but a different time when Allen Stroud was working on the lore handbook for the authors for ED and checking their new stories consistency against earlier lore. So quite relevant me thinks.

It is relevant. I'm just not sure about the UA = First non human relic.

Wouldn't GalNet have mentioned it if they were the same?
If you have a famous i object stored somwhere for a thousand years and then hundreds of the same objects shows up, you would think it deserved a mention?

I am not so sure about that, if they admit to having one for a while when loads turn up people will be wanting to know why they dont know what to do with them and why they have learned nothing, a bad position to be in if you are power.

Why change the FFE timeline and update it for ED if they were not the same?

Presumably INRA has had one thousand years to bump off anyone who knew about it.

That too.

NEWS:

Zac Antonaci just answered (or better, non-answered) to my PM regarding our new discoveries about the T-Ships:

The only solid info in his answer is the lack of biscuit in wagon wheels ;)

But he could have answered just: "Yes, it's a Bug."

Gah, I hate this phrase (it may or may not). Is it supposed to sound coy? Hmpf.

I don't think the relic is secret. I think it is quite famous.
Different objects, from the same species?

For what its worth, went to 27 Arietis and spent the day blowing up UA's, 47 to be specific.
So for the current time it seems a system cannot be cleared of UA's, they just keep spawning.

well the Thargoids are going to be very annoyed and we know now who made them angry! But why did you do that?

To parafrase Ishmael (the gorilla, not Palin):

We do this because we are human. We do not belong to the galaxy, the galaxy belongs to us ;-)

Went to Wolf 221 in an Orca (sh*t range and doesn't like scooping) got UA. Morse freefloating before scoop was too short for drawing ship, took it back to Varati (really you are going to hit cargo hatch EVERY time) got to Bond Hub again short Morse about 30 secs. Have vids but no sound (thanks Shadowplay). Killed UA by accidentally boosting into it. Have now updated Nvidia drivers and experience. Will try to record again tomorrow.

Off to Thompson first to repair the damage and reload AMFU

I'm very interested in the recording of the Orca, with audio ;)

Because in terms of experimentation it hadn't been tried.
Better to eliminate the simple, obvious and even stupid by giving it a shot than ignoring it.
Where's the balance between realism and game mechanics?

For now I'd say the game doesn't care what we do with the UA's, other than apparent station damage.

I don't really expect much to happen until we have that station in the Pleiades.

In terms of angry Thargoids, what's worse, killing a class room full of their kids, or the abduction of hundreds, subjecting them to months of perverse experimental probing in your dungeons to be discarded once you've had your way with them.

I wouldn't kill them when they were rare but now they're abundant as fleas.
That experiment over for me because if there is a spawn limit for them it's north of 50.
