UA Mystery thread 4 - The Canonn

Hi guys, I was just wondering. Probably been asked/done already but on the off chance it hasn't.
has anyone worked out what the wireframe code of the UA itself is and transmitted it back to it?
It strikes me that the UA has been identifying objects and transmitting them out as if to say, I see this, I recognise this, has anyone sent an "I see you" back to it!

sorry again if this is a repeat, I did try searching the forums with keywords to see if it had been mentioned but couldn't find anything.

Pity there's no obviously uniform, prescribed way of working out a UA's passport photo to then transmit back to one.

I've thought of doing this and I support this idea. BUT...

The trouble I foresee with it is that I can't see the programming being "smart" enough to take into account any discrepancies between our drawing and the intended drawing (if indeed it is intended for us draw it). I had the same doubt in my mind when I sent pictures in letters and in morse over comms to it of a Thargoid ship. I sent 3 different pictures, kindly provided to me by 3 forum users, but still there's no way to know if you've drawn it in the right way (orientation, triangle simplifications etc) to match.

having said that, I repeat- I SUPPORT the IDEA. If it is intended for that to be the key, then surely it would be coded to work even if the triangular drawing dOes not match exactly.

ps- perceptive Commanders will have noticed me going part-Rizal there with the caps, but I didn't use bold as well. It's wise to never go FULL Rizal (unless you ARE the Rizal) :p

I believe I found something, if not I think I'm mentally ill. Please someone tell me I'm not crazy:

After joining in about 2 weeks ago to help figure out the UA mystery something came to my mind.
The screens or projectors in stations had signals running in a second layer behind the commercial. There is a lot of flickering going on the screens, it looked a lot like obscured tv signals or even morse sometimes.
I also came to think about the "Wedding Barge" how the ship always tells us to to adjust our monitors to the right frequencies.
I looked and looked at those darn screens forever in all kind of angles, trying to decode any signal etc.

Today, by coincidence I went to debug cam with my new Diamondback Explorer within the hangar to have a look at it. Had another look at the screens. Still nothing. Maybe if we deliver more UA's to stations they can maybe show something eventually? I rotate my camera and suddenly there it is..images of space projected on my window on the Diamondback Explorer. Even scarier is there is something like a "half moon" showing up every now and then, at least it looks like its been cut with a saw or something.

I also tried this with a vulture and nothing was projected on its windows.

PS! The video is uploaded but still under processing as we speak.
I have to leave but will be back later.

Soontill is a reference to T James' novel. There are a different artifact, although his novel did have Thargoids in it.
Michael

To me Michael's use of though implies that 'our' artefact is Thargoid related.

Thargoid related is the key in that case.

The UA is not Thargoid, because then it would not be unknown.

Still, we know Thargons can hatch inside other creatures, so nothing is ruled out.

All I know is that on my Cobra, the comms. are set to channel 214.

I have not been able to change it.

Hello again.

I just wanted to share this in case it is of use to anyone.
I made the page mostly for myself, being late to the mystery and Elite in general I wanted to consolidate all the information I could find so as to get my head around it all.

Cheers!

Good work on highlighting the inconsistent errors in the decoded models. I'm convinced there's a deeper level of information here.

If I had more spare time...

It looks like the reflection on the windows ignore the station and just reflect back the image outside. Since the station is rotating, the reflection appears to be sliding.

Except Soontill is not in T.James' novel, (unless mentioned in passing) which focuses on Peregrina. It is in John Harper's And Here The Wheel. Could MB be wrong, and have the two confused? The horror, the horror.

Being wrong in italic. Thats the worst kind of wrong.

For that matter transmit an Octagon to it and see what happens. That should be a simple shape to draw...

Where did the Morse for the T series ships come from ?? Has the Morse behaviour changed again ???

Delmonte.
I've decoded all the ships signals more than one month ago, and the T-ships are on the list as well, because when I decoded their MORSE, I've deployed the UA from my DBX, while recording the T-ships MORSE from my second account. It was a mistake to do it like that, because I could have found the other Behavior of the UA with them, but I must say I hate the T-ships, so I had to do it fast... I did the same with another few of short ranged ships, to avoid the trip to a free floater.

That's why we are ruling out all the ships again from the "Station's name MORSE" behavior.

It was already done. BTW, there are at least 10 ways to draw an Octagonal shape in a 26x26 grid. I really think that the "drawing back" road is a dead end.

That's what I thought when I failed to be able to get a ship on my t6.
Given that very few people have ever gone ua hunting in a tx till very recently, I assume that they were recorded when a normal ship dropped a ua for them. I don't have evidence, but it is certainly a reasonable assumption

Can I just check - are you, like me, using your phone? And does it, like mine, have a penchant for capitalising Morse? (See! It bloody did it again! Whyioughta....)

Ahh.. Thank you for the explanation :)

So do I. Like Kyp says - it's a nice thought. But... Well, put it this way: how many octagons will it take before you can say, categorically, 'nope, that didn't work'?

No, I'm capitalizing it deliberately... to make it stand out from the rest.
Everyone is pointing my obsession for CAP letters and bold, no one is noticing how much care I put in punctuation ;)
