I've never cared much about people discovering things first (except for neutron stars!), so I don't mind if people find interesting things related to the UA during the beta. I'll gladly read the spoilers and try to throw insane theories your way as usual.
Just to clarify, neither of us attacked either the Python or the escorting Vultures. Only cargo scans were done.
Then the Python was shooting empty space for a bit, as you can also see mentioned in the chat log.
After the mission failure message they jumped out, all of them except for one Vulture. Firing up the game now to look for the name of the system it jumped to.
Thanks for the update. Nice screenshot!
Judge a few things (no T9 / Message from FED naval ship not the python) ...
I had no luck with other behavior today. The KWS is not a changer.
If system was really also "Nihursaga (9.66ly)" be glad not to have followed ... 240.000ls to "D" sun with one station there always ....
1,5 hours pure Frontier style game fun for me. Boring like hell and a final low wake jump in the sun after 5 jumps and loosing all wings.
We salute you!
Excellent find. Something to investigate. So here are the screenshots I took last night, showing the Python's cargo and the chat log with the message regarding the mission failure.
Cross-Post from this thread (Click here)
We've arived at our conclusion;
Not every one has beta access
Not every one will have Horizons once it goes public, either.
If those who own horrizons, but don't also have beta access, are going to land in merope post-beta, the people who don't even own horrizons are going to feel left out.
I'm sure that's not going to stop anyone who owns horrizons (but not the beta) from landing in merope post-beta.
Therefore, by that logic, us beta players will apply the same actions to our situation. We will be touching down during beta. All discoveries will be posted here & on the main thread.

Edit: The system the Python jumped to was Nihursaga.
Don't know if this has been reported before or not (probably has) but just found an occupied escape pod in a Salvageable Wreckage. In orbit around Undine, the so-called "plague" moon at Peregrina.Perhaps these are supposed to be the survivors from the Thargoid secret base there from Out of the Darkness?
Hanging out to see what else might pop now that I finally got the permit. The quarantine is still mentioned in the system description, but no mention of it elsewhere in station news or planet descriptions or the like.
Edit: Just found five more in another salvageable wreckage, also in orbit of Undine. The wreckage is pretty generic, does not look like any particular ship that I can tell. If it was a ship it was a bloody big one, most of the chunks of wreckage are as large, and in a couple of cases larger, than my Asp.
Edit 2: More than one ship in the wreckage (first time I have noticed that). Just found a cockpit section of an Eagle, but the big stuff certainly does not belong to it.
BTW, anyone else notice how the universe is emptier than even usual today? ED Steam stats show concurrent users have fallen by half with the release of Fallout 4 (bugs and all).
Did you release a UA in orbit?

I believe we cargo scanned before the mission failed. I have noticed in other convoys that ships seem to react to a cargo scan with evasive maneuvers, but do not turn hostile. So maybe the cargo scan triggered this. Like they were supposed to transport the stuff secretly, but have now been discovered. But that doesn't explain why there's nobody here explaining that's completely normal and was seen a million times, and I'm pretty sure that I'm not the first of this group to cargo scan a Medical Transport.Still catching up the threads, but did you scan the cargo before or after the mission failed? There are seven performance enhancers and seven escape pods but eight progenitor cells.
I don't think we currently have any reason to believe that the Medical Transports are linked to the UA. The reason we went back to Timocani was to check if we could still find the UA convoys from 1.3.Given that the escape pods found are from man made wrecks I really doubt if the UAs really are thargoid. The only thargoid connection I can assume is that someone is fiddling with thargoids or thargoid DNA…
Has anyone tried dropping a UA into the path of any of the convoys, or are they always in SC? If anyone has, did they pay any attention to it?
Yup, it must have been Nihursaga. I remembered it was just below 10 ly and it started with an N. Not much choice there.
240 kls, how nice. I think I never mentioned how much I hated LHS 3447 and its 110 kls hike to get to a useful station. ;-)
Thanks for checking that out. Sadly I'm all out of rep.
But you've missed the obvious one:
Thargoids confirmed!
I just had a strange sense of deja vu.... didn't you do this anagram about 20 thousand posts ago?
