Uh oh... I think I just discovered something about the FC jump that we can't see, YET...

Check this wall in the FC hangar

And check it again now, during the jump:

Seen the difference?

When the FC makes the jump the FC logo disappear and then it reappears when the jump is complete.
This means that this is not a plain simple wall... there's some hidden animation/layer on it...

Some surprise for the release?

I don't think so. The rest of the texture remains. Why the logo (a standard logo) is not part of the rest of the texture? Or why the other signs stay?

I think the bug is that they forgot to leave something in that shouldn't be there.

Could be a wrong shader applied to the logo giving some weird effect for the jump. But let's speculate about fun stuff instead. I think it is the washroom behind that door. Preparation for Space Legs and when we have to do our own laundry, clean the ship, do dishes, empty the biowaste bins, ...

The same happens with utility mounts, in the anaconda or corvette, having these visible in front of the bridge during the jump they disappear and when they reach the system they appear again

I think the bug is that they forgot to leave something in that shouldn't be there.

It's a layer on top of the background, not a complete texture - just like the icons in every other hanger which change depending on what type of station you're in.

During the jump you're looking at a loading screen, and the UI probably doesn't know you're in a carrier. It's the same logic behind the ship side panels not being visible during a jump.

But yeah, the whole Delayed Era is hiding just behind that wall.

It’s a fun idea, but could just be that decal got missed off an alternate assembly for the jump visuals / clashes with some shader effect during the jump or whatever no?

It is a good wall though. Does look potentially mobile

You are transported to a different texture map during loading (that's what jumping is). Similar thing happens while FSD jumping on a regular ship, it's just that the devs have been less thorough with FCs so far.

This is also a hint that emblem is possibly modifiable by the players.

i.e. none whatsoever?

Honestly it drives me insane that, I know it's a stupid and totally insignificant thing to get irritated by but why? Why does jumping mean that I can't take a quick peek at my info, or check whose bounties I need to cash it, or quickly recap a mission brief?

It's the mysterious 'wear and tear' - every time you jump the sign falls down and one of the crew has to tape it up again.

Saw that on the Mamba during the 3.3 beta, reported it as a bug, needn't have bothered.
