Suggestion: Better view of genetic markers in the animal management UI similar to what we have for welfare
I dont know if it was mentioned earlier or already adressed, but we could use an improvement in the animal management UI to better view the genetic markers of our animals "at glance", like the game already do if you mouse over the welfare bar. One idea is that if part of the appeal of an animal comes from its genes then we could mouse over the appeal score to view a similar popup of their genes, but if you feel like it belongs it another column entirely its up to you really. It would be really good to have this tweaked out since in this same window we can rename, locate and define birth control on the animals

Thank you for your great work with this game, really loving it so far

I REALLY like this idea.

Great list!
Some more nice-to-haves:

I would like to be able to reposition the advanced movement-axes.
I would like to be able to use keys to position an item in advanced movement.
I would like to see the animal's exact age in the compare mates window.
It would be great if the compare mates window would show the names of the habitats the animals are in.
It would be great if the Compare Mates interface could be filtered by 'animals in same habitat' and 'all animals'.
It would be great if the compare mates interface had a 'select' button. And it would be awesome if the compare mates interface would stay open if another animal is selected.
Currently the compare mates window shows the red warning icon when an animal is on contraceptives. It would be great if the icon were yellow if the animal's only 'problem' are the contraceptives. Same for the center area.
It would be great if the 'gene bars' in the compare mates window had tooltips that show the exact number.
It would be great if the research-windows would show the staffer's workzones.

I didn't see this thread before I made my own post, so I just copy past that one here (hope that's ok, I also added some more ideas):

In the animal market:
  • let me rename animals that are in the trading center storage
  • Add a button to the currently selected animal in the trading center storage "view in market". That button should automatically apply the filters to show animals like this one in the animal market. For example: If I select a female pronghorn antelope, clicking this suggested "view in market" button should switch you to the market view and automatically apply the filter "pronghorn antelope" and "female".
  • In the trading center storage for animals that I'm currently selling, show me the price I put in. Right now it only shows how much time is left. Especially when prices fluctuate it would be nice to see what price I put in to see if that price is still good.
  • In the animal market, show me the animals that I'm currently selling but gray them out or something. This would be immensely useful to see if the prices I chose are actually good.
  • In the trading history, show me the time and date (real life) when the sale happened
  • When an animal gets sold, show me a notification (in case there is one and I just missed it, make it more visible I guess :D)
  • When selling an animal, the price input field does not accept the backspace key. (Maybe a bug) When I want to chose a price that has fewer digits than the one that's suggested, or if I accidentally added a digit, I always have to select the entire field with the mouse and type over it. Very annoying
In the list of all animals in the zoo:
  • show the bronze, silver, gold icons in the visitor attraction column (the one with the 🏅 looking symbol) (also show these icons in the animal list of habitats)
  • When renaming an animal, you can press the tab key to rename the next animal, but when you are at the bottom of the currently visible animals, it switches to the top of the currently visible animals. Instead, it should scroll down automatically until the very bottom of the list is reached (basically all other programs work this way)
  • When multi-selecting animals and then sending them to the trade center or the wild, a confirmation window pops up. That's great. But what's less great is that this also closes the animal list. Instead, the confirmation window should pop up over the animals list and the animals list should be visible again with all the filters still applied after confirming. Right now for example, if I want to send 2 lemurs to the trading center, and release three others I need to: Open the animals list, filter by lemurs, sort by name, select 2 lemurs, click "send to trading center". Then I have to do the whole thing again and re-apply the filters and sorting to select the ones I want to release to the wild.
In the Zoo finances screen:
  • let me go back more years in the diagrams
In the compare mates screen:
  • Let me rename animals directly in it
  • Let me send animals to the trading center/the wild/another habitat from the compare mates screen
  • Make the screen bigger and also show the current location of each animal. It is super annoying seeing animals that are in the trade center currently being sold show up here. Also, when having multiple habitats for one species it's very annoying not having any way to see in which habitat each animal is.
  • Let me sort the compare mates screen by age, name, or a specific gene
  • Show the exact age in years and not only the icon
  • For species where each animal only has one partner: When one animal that has a partner is selected there's an icon showing that this animal has a partner. Clicking that icon should automatically select the partner on the other side of the screen. Right now it is super annoying to find the partners and that's the main reason why I haven't bred flamingos yet and instead just let them do incest.
  • Keep the bottom bar with play/pause, money, time, etc and the notifications in the top left visible while the compare mates screen is open
  • Ok, these are a bit bigger suggestions but:
    • make the compare mates screen more like the all animals in the zoo list. So, let me multiselect and send to trade center / release to the wild directly from the compare mates screen, also let me see the details of a particular animal while viewing the compare mates screen
    • Show a real full family tree/pedigree
Zoopedia:
  • If I open the Zoopedia, don't close all other windows. Instead open the Zoopedia above the other windows, and show them all again after closing the Zoopedia. Almost always I am doing something (like comparing mates or building a habitat) and I just need to quickly check the Zoopedia for something like the age at which the animal becomes sterile.
When building:
  • When I'm building and a particular building group is selected, it is not possible to select anything that's not part of that building group. That's very helpful for building pieces, plants, etc. But it's very annoying that I can't select an animal while editing a building. Often I want to select an animal when building its habitat. Currently I have to select the animal first, then click edit on the building. It should also be possible the other way around
  • have a way to make the move object thing that appears when you press x more precise. Like holing shift while moving the mouse to move more accurately.

Agree with most of these especially the market thing. One thing I would also like to point out is that yesterday I tried selling my tapir and I renamed him Parsley because I can and I like funny names. Anyway, after setting the price it didn't let me sell him because it was an "invalid name" or something like that. I guess it has to do with the profanity filter but "Parsley"? Come on. So I had to put him back into enclosure and rename him from there and put him back into trading center (renaming them on the animal list doesn't work for me all the time, it's bugged).

Pretty sure this should be listed as a suggestion and not a bug, so...

I would love to see a heatmap of litter and vandalism around the park. I regularly see guests complaining about litter or vandalism, but I can't for the life of me figure out where the problem lies. I should have enough caretakers, bins everywhere, security guards and cameras to reduce vandalism, etc. When following paths closely I barely ever see any litter or damaged items, yet there's often still more than 20% of the guests complaining...

If I could see WHERE the litter or vandalism is located, I could add extra security guards / caretakers / cameras / bins around that area or something to at least solve the problem. Now I just don't know where to look.
