But i wouldn't call those oddballs they are all pretty iconic actually and i've seen them being mentioned quite a lot.

Well in their defence it says "almost" ungulates.
It's gonna need to be more specific then considering that ungulates are closer from carnivores than Afrotheria.
Crazy how close we are to completing europes wild ungulates. Everyone talking about completing bears and cats or whatever but this is the real quest

Not really, those are more like natural reserves.
I mean its a place you go where you can watch animals in enclosures, sounds like a zoo to me.
Only real difference to zoos in the traditional sense is the tendency of mostly showing native animals and usually having very large, very natural enclosures.
But those are only tendencies as my local one for example for the most part has pretty standard zoo habitats and ive been to one that had tigers and snow leopards
