Ungulate Talk

So petition to rename na and brazilian porupines and jackals when? Oh also lets find another name for penguins while were at it
New World porcupines are more a thing of polyphyly than paraphyly. The former at least acknowledges that they're distantly related, which is something that the latter ignores. Polyphyly just simplifies convergent evolution, while paraphly just chooses to ignore genetic research to establish pre-conceived notions.
Golden jackals can be renamed to golden wolves, and that mostly solves the problem there. The only other jackals are in the genus Lupulella.
The penguin issue got solved backwards, as the extinct Pinguinus impennis is usually called the great auk.

Ngl it's hella funny seeing people complaining that we are receiving another goat in a row while prior to barnyard we had a 2 year caprine drought twice between dall sheep, ibex and takin releases, it's the anphibian situation all over again.

I gotta say, I really like the ungulate, like every other animal group, because, there is no Zoo I guess, that has no ungulates and I think its good, we have a good representation of ungulates in the game. But it is kinda strange, why we get so many goats and sheep now. And I am a caprine Fan, but, the species we have in game, are not the right ones for me. Of course, Alpine Ibex is necessary, Takin and even the two domestics too, but I have something against the Markhor, the Bighorn Sheep and the Dall sheep. Maybe it is because non of these 3 are common in European Zoos, I would rather have the Himalayan Thar or the barabary sheep, because where I live, they are much more common in Zoos. Beside the caprines, now I think we really need more Deer, especially more asian one, like the axis deer, the sika deer and the muntjac. And , I know the opinion of the antelopes here, but I think, we need definitely more, then we have now. Blackbuck, Nilgai, Eland and Kudus at least. But no more dessert antelopes XD. I don't really need another giraffe type, but I really need more equines, like the gravy Zebra or the onager. And, although not in the upcoming pack, I really want the vicuna, I really like them.

Another thing for me is, that we really really need more asian hoof stock, like, fr. Axisdeer, Muntajc, sika deer, Onager, Blackbuck, nilgai, Gaur, Banteng, Himalayan Thar and so on. Africa need more too, but not that necessary, in my opinion. North America has enough now, but it can definitely use a deer, like the wapiti or something, but not a priority for me. South America is complicated, vicuna and Pudus would be nice, but especially South America is in need for other species, not hoof stock. Australia has non, right, whether in real or in the game? Europe could easily use more too, but, lets be honest, Europe is good by now and stuff like the chamois or the mufflon would not be that important.

Other than me thinking dall sheep are massively underrated, I fully agree. That problem isn't the quantity of picks in general, it's that the quality of each pick is increasingly lackluster. And frankly that does nothing but slander the reputation of ungulates with all this waste.

Same as @Mjmannella above. I disagree with the Markhor and Dall sheep take cause they’re cool and American zoos have them (even the bighorn is very common here but it is redundant).

But I agree with everything you said we need more Asian deer, one American deer would be nice but not pressing, Asian antelopes would be awesome, and a couple more UNIQUE African antelopes would be a God send. We have just been getting the same type of ungulates and it’s making people upset. That’s why personally I loved the Wetlands ungulates so much since they showed a new side of ungulates with aquatic dwelling ungulates and teaching people about lechwe (they also have a unique rig)

I mean there is still a pretty decent chance that one of the 2 missing animals is the elk, mule deer would also fit in very well with the coyote and sheep
If so... I would be happy and sad at the same time, happy that there are finally ungulates that are no longer "antelopes or goats", but sad that... there is still no deer exclusive to Asia.To have this kind of scene, I have to use mods, which is really not very convenient.

I firmly believe that sometimes it's okay to challenge conventional wisdom to make common sense get rid of inconsistencies. I care about this a lot, and I hate just letting things sit by the wayside just because it's what people currently believe. Someone has to innovate and talk change, and that someone might as well be me. I've been passionate about setting records straight for years, and I don't plan to change until I see my goals through. Hell, I even used my platform to tell people about unrevealed animals from the base game that got data-mined because I didn't like how tight-lipped Frontier was being.
I get that it feels pedantic.I think a way to re-position to stance is just learning more about how things in the world work. Learning is process and exist beyond dedicated facilities and should be normalised across everything. Educating people is something that's always been an interest of mine, regardless if people listen. That's just what I do.
I've probably gotten more flack from people than most people on this side of the Frontier forums. But that's not something that's going to stop me.
So in essence, I'm somehow who always wants to see change. Change requires girt and persistence. That's why I always speak my mind.
The problem is that you dont challenge conventional wisdom you just try to enforce your view as the absolute truth, like the sub-species discussion which isnt even consensual in academia, and its obvious that the small specializations are what makes them able to survive in the enviroment X but not Y.
