Unique yet Useful Builds/ Favorite Builds

Alright Guys,

I typically like to go against the meta and find my own good builds in most games I play. So, lets see some good unique builds that are actually good for something not "built it just to build". Secondarily, also want to know what's your favorite build (even meta builds) for any given application. Don't gotta go crazy, just give us the general biz.

This will show us A) what are the frequently used builds as of today and B) who is out here being creative!

Either way, I'm hoping to gain knowledge and inspiration!

Grabs a coffee and sits back waiting for the inevitable experts to appear to tell everyone else how bad their ship design/build skills are and that all must follow their advice if they want to play the game the 'right' way.

No offense OP, I fully understand the intent of what you are asking, but some here just can't help lording over the rest of us and telling us how to play the game

No offense taken! Too right you are, it is inevitable. I grabbed my coffee as I sat down too post this, lol. Let see what knowledge the ship building gods bless us with. Hopefully at least a few people actually post some builds on here!

I'll start with a light one! Not sure how unique this is. I think it just might be generally ill advised. I am thinking of building a T-9 Deep Core Miner. I know its gonna be like trying to drift a minivan inside my house without damaging anything, but I'm decent enough at maneuvering around asteroids. I also don't know if ill ever want to be in a ring long enough to fill the full cargo cap, but ill try it out once at least! If I fill up, I'll have a nice little pay day, 600+ tons of whatever's selling high that day :) Hopefully I'll still have my sanity...

I love my tanked T10 with size 8 prismatics and hull/shield boosters to the max!

What is it good for you ask?🤭

... Dropping on 10G planets, full throttle, straight down!

... And bouncing! 😝

Don't believe me? I have the video! 🙂

But if you like flying the T-9, it works fine. I've T-9 Core, T-9 Seismic and T-9 Laser. Honestly, the Seismic one is great fun. (y)

My Dolphin. Completely stripped naked. No armor, no shields, no weapons. Nothing. The lightest possible reactor and engine to barely being able to take off. Fully upgraded frameshift drive, fuelscoop and extra fuel tank. But. With a VERY fancy paintjob! I always lock the passengers into their quarters. Otherwise I'm afraid I won't make it to that top 10% if those pr*ck passengers find out they're flying in a paint armored hydrogen bomb....

Never done it myself, but I've seen some people make great use of a stock Sidewinder as a pad blocker.

If I feel like shooting things with a SLF, I take out the L. Fitzpatrick.
It's named after my first Elite pilot I had since the SLF update, who I only lost a few days before the ability to "rebuy" them was added due to an unfortunate docking incident.

Sitting in the SLF watching as my replacement pilot tears everything apart kind of explains why FD doesn't give NPCs min-maxed outfits or allow us to have NPC wingmates.

It's a nigh-invulnerable, aimbot equipped WMD, and I've got its command codes.

I recently built a speed Courier, the only compromise for weight were the pack hound missile racks, although lightweight engineered. Pointless but huge fun in VR and I think the secret weapon is confusion. Not so much the ‘Wow’ factor as the ‘Why?’ factor.
Hehe, I have something similar but with twin torps and a single packhound rack.

Used to surprise player miners, especially those who told me "why would I do that" when I politely asked for 8t of LTDs.
