Unfortunately it's one of those rings that are almost invisible - I wouldn't even probably notice it if not for the proximity alert.

Would you explain, please, what do you mean? I see nothing difficult in it and for me the current location option in the navigation panel works correctly (I've just checked it) as it's worked since its introduction to the game in Gamma.

ah, I've never noticed that! I 've only ever done closest to sol records so was able to take pic with my current location clearly visible, never been close enough to Sag A* or far enough to from sol to merit a record.
I've noticed that you have to actually have to select the system to get the location info to come up in the system map navigation tab

Maia in the Pleiades has 6 stellar bodies, a blue giant, a main sequence, some brown dwarves and a black hole, to boot! Maybe more, I only had a basic Discovery scanner.

Well, for me, since 1.2 (I suppose, not certain) both the current location and selected location fields keep staying EMPTY, and additionally (because they're empty I guess) the arrow buttons next to them don't work either. I'd call that broken.

EDIT: Eh, what the heck. Now it seems to work again? This requires more testing...

EDIT2: Okay, fiddled around some, so what apparently bugs out is the 'select system' button - sometimes even if you keep on clicking on it, nothing happens. You can still plot a route, though, but clicking on the select system option does nothing. And since the current system and target system fields start out empty, and don't get refreshed until you select a system on galaxy map, they keep staying empty.

As for coldest K-star then a small star is usually a cold star, so what was the temperature of cmdr Rukmerots little K-star?
