Jaques started his journey of exploration yesterday, any records found in a system that Jaques is visiting will be accredited to him in the book of records

New record! to celebrate our 4 month birthday!
this one going to be unbeatable!

COLDEST METAL RICH PLANET
MERCURY WITH A SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF 402K

OE5mJxc.jpg

that's right our very own mercury! beats the last record by 600K! must be a bug! or maybe its all the other metal rich planets that are bugged?

Ah, finally, after 2 weeks of inability to play, the latest patch apparently nudged my character out of the limbo it was stuck in. So I'm back.

Nevertheless, onwards to the new records:
(sorry I couldn't glean out anything better from this system I found myself in after two weeks of character limbo)

THINNEST SINGLE RING
SKAUDOU EH-Z B16-0 2 A RING AT 18KM

Here's a closeup of the bad boy also... the ring is very thin indeed. And heck, I went full crazy and made a short video capture trying to explore the ring - it's surprisingly hard, as the parent planet is moving around on its orbit rather rapidly as well, so you don't go exactly where your nose points in relation to the ring. I kinda wanted to go closer, but decided not to risk it, who knows what might happen if I get stuck in a ring that's moving around like that outside of supercruise (yeah, two weeks of no elite due to jumping into a random star system and getting 'could not connect to matchmaking server' kinda makes you think twice about even the most mundane of things!)

EDIT:

Also please check FURTHEST AMMONIA WORLD FROM SOL I'm pretty sure I haven't been that far out yet (I'm being miscredited for someone else) :p

Nice records! I have nothing to offer today except for a link to a collection of sounds that some of you may find pleasing to the ear while exploring the vastness of space:

http://www.kahvi.org/releases.php?release_number=351

Thanks Jack I enjoyed those tunes.
I gift you back my exploration playlist....

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works II (some tracks are too ambient for me though)
Biosphere - Substrata
Croms - Invisible Cities (single track)
Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest
Gustav Holst - The Planets Suite (for a bit of a break from the electronic)

IMAGE LINK (proof that star is F-type)
IMAGE LINK 2 (proof that there's 54 bodies around it)

Do we count the number of orbiting bodies, or all bodies in system star included? I'd suppose orbiting only for this category.

F-TYPE STAR WITH THE MOST BODIES
EIDAILLS LD-S D4-17 WITH 54 BODIES

Added the latest records.

@Kalpa: Nice to have you back :) I like the ring, it's really cool. And thanks for the tip with the Ammonia World. I've corrected it.

@Ferris and Jack: Some nice music in those lists. Try to listen to Stellardrone if you have some time.

F-TYPE STAR WITH THE MOST BODIES

All bodies on the actual star with the stuff that orbits them, no secondary stellar bodies or the bodies orbiting them included

Aphex Twin, Single Cell Orchestra and Boards of Canada...good choices sir! I'll have a look at the rest, I think I haven't heard those yet...thanks!

@Niddi: Thanks for the tip, I'll check that out!

it is getting harder it seems :)

LIGHTEST CARBON STAR
HD 192443 WITH 0.4687 SOLAR MASSES CMDR TRAV ELER

WATER WORLD WITH THE MOST MOONS
PROOE DRYE AV-W D2-18 B 10 WITH 5 MOONS CMDR TRAV ELER

COLDEST CLASS V GAS GIANT
BOEPP PO-G D11-1866 1 WITH A SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF 1402K

ps. Totally offtopic, but the first 'first discovered by' label I see in this game! (Not surprisingly, as this nebula is almost straight on the path from sol to core, and this is one of the more prominent stars around)

LIGHTEST C-TYPE STAR ; trav eler does not adhere to our beloved book standards, he's such a rebel ;)

should be lightest C-type star
That I could guess, as well - what I meant: shouldn't the record be not accepted unless it's for a correct category (the full name of the record from the rules is wrong in this case) or at least it should be mentioned it was placed in the correct one? Additionally, we have 5 types of carbon stars in the book so the evidence should be clear for which type it is, too (currently it isn't in this case).

What about the rule I suggested? Will it be added to the rules?

Edit:
added latest record!
and here's a rare find, a gas giant with a water world moon!:

Look at it's composition - it's just a molten icy moon ;)
