Agreed.
Also, when I find a planet that was already discovered... I didn't discover it. I just found it. The word "discover" is used throughout the game and its a bit annoying.
Also, in the System Map when you click on a planet and it shows info regarding the planet it says whether its been mapped or not. I originally assumed it meant "has it ever been mapped". It is confusing because everything else is a description of planet data, not the commander's personal accomplishments. For consistency sake on Greasetrap's ship it should say:

Discovered by Greasetrap: Yes (pending)
