Guys, in Bast right now - it's crazy easy to get convoys:
1. I'm part of the CG
2. I'm close the planet.
3. I'm going full truttle near the planet (~100km/s). Full throttle seems to increase the chance of picking up a SSS. (?)
4. About 50% or more are convoys, but many of them are the variant with 3xType-9 + Vulture Wing.
---
4 out of 5 corporations are in Boom. Maybe this also increase the chance of Convoys?
---

I was playing Solo, returning to the Hart station in Bast.

The convoy slowly broke up, jumped to several systems, but the T9 went to BD+75 58, about 5 mins ago.

Dunno if it would be there, look for a strong signal source.

EDIT - no way could I take them out, only in a T6!

I was monitoring their systems, the cargo hatch on the T9 was at 95%, but I couldn't tell if it was getting worse.

Wait what? You went into a strong signal source in a type 6??? While doing a CG?

After the "many ships affect UA jump" test, the fine CMDRs I was winged with dropped down to normal space. CMDR Anuranium tested jumping right next to a UA (no change). But while he was testing, I noticed the sound was different (no purrs, no constant background noise, very clear Morse).

Thinking it was either the Anaconda or being in a wing, I restarted to record. I was able to reproduce the sound (starts around 2:45) - https://youtu.be/ijfS799tu48.

Before anyone gets excited, it appears that it was only because I was 300m(-ish) away from the UA. I'm so used to recording close up that I've never heard it from a distance before. It is interesting how different the soundscape is (& it'd be nice if someone who can hear the Morse easily could translate) at a distance vs. close up.

Also, CMDR Nicolas Powell tested being in supercruise while the UA was honking, looking for a UA beacon or similar while also using a discovery scanner to ping for it. Verified to show nothing & not cause any behavior change in the UA.

Branch, CMDRs!
I was able to see your video only today, and I spotted a very interesting thing: there is a new sound, I've already heard in the famous Sleipnir recording, and now I'm earing it in your recording too: it's a Dolphin-like talking/chittering, very strong, playing exactly OVER THE CHITTERING MORSE,
but the most important thing is, that IT IS AUDIBLE ONLY WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THE UA FROM INSIDE YOUR SHIP.
I've heard a similar sound in the Sleipnir recording, while Ratking was listening to the UA from inside his ship, but it was a little different. And Ratking spotted it as well, I remember him saying something about it. Than forgotten.

You can ear it very clearly at 3:17 and 3:52 of mrTree recording: https://youtu.be/ijfS799tu48

This thing let me think:
The sound could possibly change, revealing new parts, just listening from different ships!
That's why I'm asking again to listen to the UA FROM AN ORCA, please.

Moreover, I strongly suggest to try to record your videos without using the debug camera, but directly from inside the cockpit of your ship.

I remember to you all, another hint we had not too much time ago, that was not requested, but that said:

"Tell them (us) to listen to it" and then "It's easier than you think, but not everyone will get it"

I've already said a lot of times that the "not everyone" could just mean "not from every ship".

Cheers CMDRs.

I think there are certain areas where this happens.

I've been doing Kamilagro and it's the same virtually every SSS is military, no boom there though...

But been there for days and nothing and been wondering, does more military actually mean more chance of UA? It's hard to know. Might head over to Bast and see could do with a change of scenery.

Wait that was the sound you were wanting specifically? I thought it was a different sound..... :s I've often heard it when first deploying the UA as it speeds off too fast to risk following until it slows so it gets a distance away.

Been there all day lol....when I could get on anyway....still there now ;)

He's referring to this thing Mr Tree and me were discussing yesterday.

It's the fast stretched clicking indicating the start (and end) of the location block, it's not a new sound it's always been there, it's just the other sounds that are usually present mute it somewhat making the clicking less obvious. It may or may not mean something.

No, I didn't want that specifically, because I spotted it just in some of your videos while listening to the UA from inside the cockpit.
But now that I'm hearing it again, and hearing it just in some specific situations, could be that there are other hidden sounds, that can be heard under some particular conditions.
That said, the first thing that came to my mind, is the ship you are listening from.
Perhaps each ship can spot some different sound from the UA. It's an easy test to do really. And because even the new sound I'm talking about, is a cetaceous sound (a dolphin, this time), could be that FD is telling us just that? Whales and dolphins sounds: Orca and Beluga.
This could easily explain why they cannot give other hints: what could they say? Listen from all the ships you have? Mistery solved.

You are talking about the start and the end part of it, that is always clearly audible, but I'm talking about the part that is OVER the chittering, between those two sounds you are saying, that is audible just in those occasions. It is generally muted, as you say.

I mean: there is that clicking you are talking about, then the sound continues, like a dolphin verse, then another fast clicking to mark the end. I'm talking about the one between.

Okay so before we go ahead and start lining up ships to listen to the UA through can you first see if the sounds are different between my and mrtree's recordings?

I should be happy just with the ORCA for now ;)
I'm still on the Sea, and this PC I'm using is just for other 5 minutes, then I will be back on mobile... :(
So it's difficult for me to navigate well and do researches.

So We could just do the Orca for now, better if in a wing (like in mrTree video and yours in Sleipnir)...

200mt or around, could be a good distance, like mrTree pointed out...

I don't think you understood.......I said between my and mrtree's recordings as we have those but we don't have any recordings from an Orca yet, but we may do so if there is a difference between the cobra MKIII and the imperial courier.

Yeah the clicking starts up just prior to the location block, then the morse comes in, the clicking continues throughout, the morse ends then the clicks quickly slow down.

It's this clicking you're referring to right? If that's what you mean it's always been there, sometimes it's more obvious than others but it's not new.

It's essentially like an "envelope" marking the location morse.

Hey every one,

While we are still getting a steady stream of applications for The Canonn, we will soon begin discussions regarding the leadership structure. Arcanonn has suggested a "council" style where founding members will vote for figureheads. We will still be accepting applications so there is still plenty of time for those who seek founder status. If you have any suggestions please feel free to bring them up, as there is nothing currently set in stone at this moment.

Can I just ask what the plan is or what the point of the group is?
