Unreachable destination?

I just spent the last few days trying to reach Rho Cassipeiae, but it looks like it is about 600ly below the main collection of stars - has anyone managed to reach it?

Looking at it, and trying to find a route with our annoying gal map :D I see only one star that is within reach of Rho Cassi ,it is below and called QIED AEA IH-C D13-0 , and as far as I can see nothing we have right now can reach either.

That's a shame, but will earn me some good money as there was nothing out there marked by anyone else

I always say the same, and we both mean those systems will have "my" tag on it :D then I remember that it is doubtful we have even "tagged" 1 billion systems yet, and there are 399B more :)

And the flipside, as explorers we don't care there are billions more, we want that system :D
I just saw a lovely nebula and thought I will go there someday, so I moved/zoomed in, to get closer to log it on paper. It turned out to be another galaxy !!!

There are lots of stars you cannot reach yet, I tried to reach a specific star for personal reasons as soon as we were able to get out into the full galaxy but as it is a long way above the galactic plane the stars are spread very thinly.

From what I can see unless we one day have some way of crossing at least 70ly of empty space my own quest will remain unreachable. :)

Instead of getting an engine that can perform such a large jump, we need to discover or build a structure large enough in between these gaps in order to make multiple jumps. These dark systems (dark because they do not have a light source in the form of a star) are mentioned in a novel so hopefully something will be found eventually maybe forcing a misjump is the way to do it but that will damage your engine.

Maybe being able to do multiple jumps? but from the way the FSD seems to work it needs to lock onto a gravity well big enough

I had an idea to try and reach other star systems out of hyperspace reach. If the devs allowed us t travel in supercruise towards an out of range star until we are finally in range then perform a hyperspace jump. After all, the only thing really stopping you is the range, your ship says it can't use that much fuel in one jump. The weird thing right now is that you DO use less fuel in a jump if you do this to a star that's in range, but trying it on a star that was originally out of range doesn't work, even if you are indeed using less fuel. Of course, in supercruise, the max speed is 2,001C (2,001x the speed of light). Even at that speed it takes you about a week off the top of my head just to travel 20ly to get in range of an out of range star, let alone 540ly to get in range of a system 600ly away. Not to mention we have to travel back too. Of course, we're explorers. We don't care, we'll do it anyway. Another idea I have is the ability to override the fuel limit on a hyperspace jump. Remember your fuel consumption raises 50% if your jump range increases 25% (or something like that), so you would use tons of fuel jumping that far. The implementation of additional fuel tanks can help with this, I don't know if they already implemented that or if it's coming soon, I never had a need for it yet, but there can also be risks involved in overriding the jump range like damage to your engines or other modules, You may drop out a few hundred thousand LS away from the target sun, or you may even crash into the sun, up to the devs imagination, but even though we may never explore every system in the game, they should all be reachable so we can try. I think both of these ways to reach far out systems should be added to the game to do so.
