Unwarranted supercruise drop out?

You see the thing about space, is, your average space colour you see, is it's black. And the thing about black holes is, they're black...

Lol - great quote! Holly is the best!

@OP does it do you an emergency drop where you take damage, or just a drop? It is very strange, even if it's the belt like @Florenus has suggested.
Has anyone heard from @Mitch Brewer yet? Or has he been turned into a Kumo burger as well?!

Out of curiosity I checked all 9 belt clusters. I was kind of hoping to find something like hidden pirate base, but no joy. Just some really bored NPC pirates.

Weird thing was that some of those clusters required me to align with escape vector, before jumping back to SC, while others did not.
But I have negligible experience with those. I don't think I've visited more than few until today.

Sorry was having family dinner, yes its an emergency drop when it happens, it causes no more than 1% damage usually to frame shift drive, I done a couple more runs after work and it just slowed me down, I dont know if origin point and destination point orbit has anything to do with it as I didn't get screen shot of orrery map at the time 🤦‍♂️

I had the escape vector after the drop outs.
Could it be im just ploughing into an asteroid belt then?
But surely they would show on the fss?
When I get back into SC there is nothing on either scanner or to see with Mk1 eyeball

Ok so the system is HIP 14974
It happens more often than not when I'm travelling from planet 2 or 3 to planet 6. Sometimes it slows me right down like a gravity well and sometimes pulls me right out of supercruise with the blue txt warning top center of my hud saying close proximity.
I will try to capture a vid of it but im on xbox so God only knows how il get it on here
@Jackie Silver : HIP 14974 apparently has an invisible object popping peeps out of SC

You can't see them in SC like you would see a planet, or moon, but they appear in nav panel (unless you have them filtered out), so you can target them. They're also visible in FSS.

I'm willing to bet you're hitting those clusters, although that seems little odd - space stations are much bigger and massive that those few rocks that make up clusters, yet you can't "hit" them. Maybe this system is bugged somehow? Because I've never heard of anyone dropping randomly into belt clusters before.

The belts seem like a good culprit - try to repeat it and keep an eye on the nav panel on the left to see if you're closing right in on a belt cluster as it happens. It is incredibly odd though and I'm intrigued by what you might find out.

Edit - ninjad by florenus!

I went out there in my Anaconda explorer. Normal explo ship, no cargo racks or anything. I flew from the main star to planet 6 and found no anomalies. Jumped out to the next system and back in. Flew towards the station at planet 3 but didn't stop there. Got close and then targeted planet 6. Almost there I was slowed down by a USS that I passed and couldn't find again. Continued and found another USS. Targeted from Supercruise and for some odd reason got Inconsistent Shield Soak Analysis and Classified Scan Databanks from it without dropping down. 8 seconds later I was interdicted by an NPC and 1 min and 14 secs later I escaped interdiction and immediately headed home. Definitely an odd system, I'd say it's either bugged or haunted. Probably haunted.

I just wonder, when you disable Asteroid clusters from being listed in the Nav panel, could that also be the case that they get removed from SC view? Or is there maybe a separate setting to not show Asteroid clusters while cruising? I am pretty sure I currently don't have them cluttering my view, so there must be some setting(s)?!
But in that case, I would expect to see asteroids when force-dropping from SC, so kinda unlikely to miss that "hint"... Dropping into an apparently empty normal space is indeed strange...

Only time I ever see asteroid clusters is if I target them manually from the system map or the nav panel.

Big thanks to Cmdr Requiem Mortis for posting last nights drop out.
The 1st drop was due to me being interdicted by an NPC but the 2nd was exactly the phenomenon I have been experiencing.
I will continue in this system as im interested to see what happens with different orbital alignments.
So just like Pete Tong..." we continue"
