Whats this new exploit and how do I avoid it?

Scraping other ships. Use a sidewinder and take down an anaconda in 2 easy steps.

Is there any way to turn supersampling off? If i set it to 1x it overheats my gfx card, if i set it to less everything is blurry. My gfx was good enough before this.

1x is basically ss off. Your problem is lack of proper cooling inside the computer case.

Hi,

Could you tell me what your commander name is, please?

Thanks!

Sorry I didn't get back to you Colin. Had to pick daughter up from brownies! Just got back and will give it a dare I say.... spin!.
Anyway the clues in my forum name for my cmdr name. They are one in the same :)

Btw, it seems to be fine now, can get into game no problems.

Thanks. I know 1x is off, or should be, so why is my card running hotter now with lower settings than it was before the patch? Also - my case is all mesh and the side panel is off.

Frontier when are you going to fix the damn installer? It's taking me 5-6 hours to install the game, and I have 10MB(100mbps) connection. The install is stalling and I have to manually restart the process tens of times to actually get the install to complete. I am not the only one with this problem, and please don't give me the "check you firewall/antivirus settings" crap, couse I already tried turning them off.

Asp engines sounds are... not as throaty. Not impressed, which is a shame as a lot of the (more) ambient sound changes are fine.

Semi-broken fuel meter is presumably mentioned in this thread earlier as, I presume, is the change to the countdown when you target a planet et al. It says (e.g.) 200 d instead of 200 days.

There are quite graphical changes in core as well. Might be needed tune down settings a little.

Invitation is automatically granted upon reaching Elite status. It is by invitation only at Dangerous or even Deadly.

Michael

I'm sorry, what does this mean? You can be invited if you are up to 2 levels below Elite? E.g. a Ranger could be invited? How does invitation work, a mission if you are allied with the Pilot's Federation?

I am not having his exact issue, but am having joystick detection issues since 1.1. Related?

From my post #346

I have 6 game controllers installed. Everything was working fine prior to 1.1 patch.

I have:

Thrustmaster T1600M (used for Battlefield 4).
Cougar MFD (two of them, used for DCS A10C flight sim).
CH Pro throttle (used for ED).
CH Fighterstick (used for ED).
Saitek Pro rudder pedals (used for ED).

The controllers I was using for ED were working fine.

Now, after 1.1 patch, only the Thrustmaster T1600M and CH Pro throttle are detected by the game.

I saw in the patch notes:

"Allowed supplemental devices to be used. They count as PCPads (for example independent throttles, custom control panels)".

Perhaps this limits us to two controllers now? It was working before...

My CH pedals, throttle and fighterstick all work as before. Whatever is happening to you, it isn't because the game would be limiting us to 2 devices.

Current Errors seen thus far

I have had this crash reporter around a dozen times now.

In combat at a nav beacon near Kingsmill multiple times, in the middle of interdiction, in outfitting, you name it. The game randomly crashes with the same error. On top of all this, there is a massive amount of lag between menu options in docks (ie: Services ->*loading* -> Outfitting -> *loading* -> Reaches User-ready Outfitting.

I can tell there is also an audio problem both deep at space and in docking. (At least I can vouch for Cobra flyers, that is.)

I also encountered delayed Hyperdrive / Supercruise entering phase and leaving phases. Once when exiting into "Safe Disengage Ready" I was still able to move around until the game started to load, then as it was loading the graphics were in a short loop.

(This post is now in two separate threads, both that apply.)

Shield Cells dropped from 10 to 4, bit drastic don't you think? And now I'm underpowered, W T F, way to find out in the middle of a battle.

so... where are the new ships?? my friend told me there would be new ship/s in this update... guess he got his facts wrong!

- Added a chevron to the landing pad schematics to help indicate the direction that a player's ship should be facing when docking
- Added chevrons to pad schematics to indicate direction player should face when landing

Redundancy is a good thing... :D

If I might make a suggestion, to make patch notes easier to read... Please consider breaking up that huge wall of text into smaller sections with sub-headings of some sort. That giant section of notes is rather much to take in all at once.

My CH pedals, throttle and fighterstick all work as before. Whatever is happening to you, it isn't because the game would be limiting us to 2 devices.

I've seen 3 others post in this forum after me with my exact same issue.

So let me ask...Do you have them all grouped in CH software as one controller? If so, that's why. The pedals are not a CH product, so I couldn't group them if I wanted to. With me/us they are individual controllers. See what I mean?

It's the individual object scanning. I have a detailed surface scanner and before it seemed to kick in between about 20 and 50 ls for small planets (sometime much earlier). Last few scans haven't started until about 10ls away.

Sounds normal to me (since beta). Completely depends on the size of the planets.

Michael while you're answering questions, why do many of us have such slow downloads? I've been downloading for an hour now and am only at about 60%. I do have rubbish internet but still, it's only 2.5 GB and shouldn't take me all night to download ... in my opinion.

EDIT: In 1984 I had The Hobbit on tape for the C64 and it would take an hour to load ... just saying.

Now I know you're exagerating: I was either 18 minutes and it'd worked, or 20 minutes and it'd failed and you have to start all over again....

Not sure it's a bug. It's clearly intentional, as previously they nerfed collisions way too down. They will tweak it in another release.

Well I don't like to moan, I really don't, but with a system for entering and leaving a station which is pretty much 'every man for himself' ignoring the physics of a much smaller ship damaging a much bigger ship in under a second almost killing it (or killing it) is stupid. If this is intentional, then its ruined the game for me.

Ok, twice now been hit by NPC ships, costing me over 2,000,000crs in damage. Traded for an hour effectively for nothing. Pretty much unplayable at the moment, and as this was brought up in the Beta stage, then rushed out, I'm pretty angry too have to say.
