power plany exceeded power shields going off line? Didn't have this in the 1.1 beta or 1.0.... any one have any ideas...? nothing has changed on my ship...

Thx Michael, keep it up! :)

Are you also looking into the 'Universal Carotgraphics Crash to desktop' issue?
I have a lot of data to sell from my exploration trip before the update. But when I open 'UC' as soon as it shows the data to sell (fraction of a second) a crash to desktop occurs. Seems others have the same problem.

But I understand the collision thing is more urgent :)
It is being investigated.

Hot fix applied to server to address issues not being able to sell exploration data

I assume this is going to be fixed. Have a couple of hundred to sell and game keeps crashing when entering the universal cartographics.

There's your answer @hannibal_barca. :)

Thank you, Michael!

I've run into a bug regarding the rank decals. I updated to 1.1 (and the hotfix to that one) yesterday and when I went into outfitting to see if my kickstarter decal was available (the ringed planet one), which it was, I saw that we now also have rank decals. Except that instead of having rank decals for all three branches (trade, combat and exploration) I had 2 trade decals, 1 exploration decal and no combat decal. The two trade decals where for penniless and my current trade rank of peddler.

My guess is that my combat rank decal (which is harmless) somehow got swapped for a penniless trade rank decal.

Has anybody else run into this sort of problem?

I've ticketed the problem, so we'll see when this gets fixed.

It's not a bug, you don't get decals for starting ranks (Harmless, penniless, etc.) Your two trade rank decals will be for Mostly Penniless (not Penniless) and Peddler. You get a decal for each rank you unlock. My combat rank is Master and I have 5 combat decals for Mostly Harmless, Novice, Competent, Expert & Master ranks.

Shoot a few pirates, rank up to Mostly Harmless and then you'll get a combat decal. :)

Shield Cells take more power now.
Set your module priorities accordingly.

This confuses me? So they increase their power usage to penalise people using more than one unit (I guess)? But you simply still put 2-3 on your ship, and only turn on one at a time, so the energy isn't an issue really?

Or have I missed something?

They require 3x more power, have an activation timer and less ammo.
Yes, you can still fiddle with power management, but thats a lot harder in the middle of a fight.

I did some trade runs last night in my sidewinder and had no real issues I even had some hull damage but it didn't blow my ship up.

After the update, the graphics for the Transactions tab has changed dramatically. Is this intended? I may have missed it in that giant wall of text known as the patch notes. :D

Anyone else getting this, or did my Gfx just get borked?

Yup, I'm getting that too. I'm hoping it's a bug 'cos its appearance is totally at odds with the rest of the HUD.

Also, the icons next to trade missions in the bulletin board no longer distinguish between missions involving taking something somewhere else and missions involving bringing something back here.

They increased power usage and lowered ammo count.
The energy increase is an issue on smaller ships, trust me.

I had to reconfigure even my Asp to be able to run with 2 cells.

Out of interest, is anyone seeing the collision issues with smaller ships, all the talk seems to suggest it's only T9s and the like...

In 1.1 beta, Cobra next to Dropship, slight touch of ship sides while heading in the same direction and "boom". Does that count?

Don't understand... Why reduce the ammo count? All this does is means people who use them have to reammo more often. Surely the goal is to reduce the frequency they can be used at during a single battle, and that's what the spin-up/cool-downs are for?

Surely the cells while turned off are using no energy? So you could have three on your Asp and only have one enabled at a time?

A script (eg: Voice Attack) could I imagine easily flick one SC unit off, and enable another one in under a second?

Yes I can have three installed on my Asp.
That doesn't change the fact that the one that's enabled now takes more power than before.

They reduced the ammo count because they were deemed to OP and made combat too easy.

I really don't know what more to tell you. If you don't understand from the given information, I'm at a loss.

Interdictions more prevalent for newish players

Hi,

I have been playing Elite Dangerous as a novice and just doing a little trading, trying to avoid combat until I am ready and have the credits to equip a ship better.

Having downloaded to 1.1 update I am being interdicted much more so my quiet phase is ending. Is this an intentional change or a bug?

thanks.

Supposedly the inerdictions are more frequent, and the AI improved. You better expect this trend to continue. Use it to prepare for the Thargoids. :)
