Same issue - game says it needs updating, Steam does not "see" an update for it.

I'm not sure that's the case. I had this happen to me when Ody first came out. I had to uninstall the game and reinstall. Please tell me that's not the process again. It can take a while for the Update to appear in Steam.
The Escape Pods added to FCs already solve that potential problem. No apex on carriers.
Would cause problems with people getting stranded.
Twitter post said 2 hours, could be anytime now.Cant see where they say it when it will be back online, says go to http://support.frontier.co.uk but cant find info there, anyone know. Just planning my day thats all, it will come when it comes.
"Getting stuck" has never been seen as a show stopper in Elite though, I don't see the reason why that would have to change now. There are various ways around it, certainly, but it takes time to build a robust system. It might be APEX is deliberately basic to encourage more co-op teamwork.
Yes, me too. That always comes up when the server gets updated but the upgrade hasn't reached YOUR (or my) copy of Steam yet. Not showing "update available" on my end yet but it will shortly. Patience....

I really did not expect to be able to sit down though?
What a really pleasant surprise!
It was really needed, but I did not expect it so soon?
It flies in the face of the "you can play Odyssey without a ship" idea though, as if that wasn't already pretty limited as it is since you can only visit destinations with a docking pad, cutting out a sizeable chunk of missions that rely on POIs, and of course megaships (but those don't really offer much anyways). Pretty lame if you ask me.There are various ways around it, certainly, but it takes time to build a robust system. It might be APEX is deliberately basic to encourage more co-op teamwork.
Do you mean logging out of Steam and back in?For anyone who isn't seeing the Update button on Steam, please wait a few minutes, if still unsuccessful please try relogging.
Well, does it? You now have places to meet other players, chat and arrange lifts to places, and that APEX service for in the bubble. Its not comprehensive but its a functional system. After 7 years of being forcebly restrained in a chair, it's nice to have options. So after 7 years of sitting in a chair, you're happy to finally, once again, sit in a chair again...?
For anyone on Steam that don't see the update yet, do this now:I'll keep checking for an hour then before going hole-hog and doing a reinstall. Thanks
I restarted Steam and all is well. Good man.For anyone who isn't seeing the Update button on Steam, please wait a few minutes, if still unsuccessful please try relogging.
PC Flaw?No mention about the odd markers appearing on the hud when playing in group since the update 9.
Are they remove or is there any explanation about their purpose ?
