You do what you want to, it's your choice after all what you do with your time.
I'm waiting to see what Elite does in the coming update, but SC has never appealed to me.
I don't have much faith in a game that has:
  • Started development at the same tine as elite;
  • Is still in Alpha or Beta build;
  • Needs more resources (PC wise) then Elite;
  • Is full of Payed content (Ships), so you can be ganked by someone who has bought a ship with IRL currency;
  • SC has nowhere near the galaxy size that elite does and i like to explore and mine resources.
And since i play multiple games i have the patience to see where FD's effort lead us.
Yes it's weird but the people who play it don't care about any of that. Everyone knows it's in perpetual alpha. Yet it still looks amazing. I don't care either if I'm honest. I feel I'm missing out.

One final thing. You know, I'm an old git. I played Elite Dangerous since 1984 starting on a BBC Micro. And when you invest a lot of your time in Elite you get this sense of loyalty. The thing is, FDev realise this and they take you for granted. (WIth the exception of Sally who is an absolute gem. I miss her). But I don't want to be taken for granted anymore.

Apart from the better eye candy, Odyssey is not for me in its present form. I don't do FPS and they cut too many corners (a la fading in and out of your ship). And I don't trust FDev one bit to introduce more content at any rate of pace. And even then, they will cut more corners. The game is virtually static and almost always without exception, everything they say they are going to introduce gets pushed further and further back from their original deadline. You end up waiting forever.

The more I think and talk about it, it's making it more likely I am to switch. Not that anyone should care. I don't expect FDev will.

Greetings Commanders

This is a brief post to let you know that the release of Update 11 has been moved to the 8th of March. This will allow the development team more time to properly prepare content such as Fleet Carrier interiors and include other fixes.

The new release date is subject to change, however if it does we will let you know in advance.

Edit:
Greetings Commanders.
Due to an unforeseen issue we will be moving Odyssey Update 11 by a few days. We will keep you updated when we have more details to share.
We talking a week or 2 days?

Better to delay the update than to release and it cause a bunch of new problems across EDH and EDO, fair do's to the Devs who caught the issue and made the right call...

@Jaguarious Probably its better to stand on your carriers "command post"/bar wide screen, and check the different changes what another layout or paintjob could cause, and you can do it cheaper than usual? Who knows.

Switch, it is the only way you can have first-hand experience of the offering - assuming you have not tried any of the 'free-fly' weeks.
I tried it during 2 of those weeks, the 2nd time just to see if things were any different.

I don't think anyone, bar yourself, will care what you do either, for what it is worth.

Perhaps you might be kind enough to return, once you have 'pledged' to give us your honest impression of the software.

At least we can play F1 Mananger 2022 in summer!

Delaying a delayed release date without giving a new release date is like giving a release date without a date. You know? ;)

I think the change of price in stocks and shares is more to do with a current war than a delay in the release date of a minor update to a one of a range of games.

(I don't think it's the war)

Adorable but what is the current signifcance of the companies stock price.

Use small words please so I understand.
Thank you for asking me to teach things about the significance of a stock price of a corporation, its a sign of trust, I realize. But unfortunately Im not an economy teacher, so that job is not mine. Im sorry for the long words, too.
