GTA 6 is said to be unlikely to come to Xbox One or PS4.

I can understand not coming to XBox one as that's being discontinued shortly but a recent release said :
"With the PlayStation 5 still hard to find at retail amid worldwide semiconductor shortages, Sony has canceled plans to discontinue the PS4, extending the system's life through 2022."

If EDO merely hinted or announced a PS5 release was just possible, I would get a PS5 in anticipation, but no announcement as we all no, so will stay with PS4.

and a recent release about GTA6 (Tomsguide) :
"As for the consoles you'll be able to play it on, the potential 2023/4 release (of GTA6) means we'll be firmly into the PS5/Xbox Series X generation. But it's possible that Rockstar will release a version for the PS4 and Xbox One if it's feeling generous."

Rockstar know where there customers are - more platforms covered = more filthy lucre, as opposed to the limited release of EDO on PC only.

What i find laughable is folks complain if something is released with bugs - enter the "its still a beta" brigade and then slag off the Devs when they delay something they think isn't ready

I love how the message is that SC fixes all the issues of Elite with no mention of same or similar issues either being present or worse in that game, along with many other issues that Elite lacks and features that SC lacks in comparison to Elite. But you do you bud.

I never said they were the same game. They are very different. But at least one had the excuse of being released as an alpha, the other which had the performance of an alpha, was released as a full version.

Anyway I'm not arguing.

Ya, I've been thinking that reading all of this. For all we know someone got t-boned on their way to the office... or fell sick.. who knows what the "unforeseen" issue is.. well that's posting here anyway.

I think they make pills for that... some even include chocolate, which I understand has similar chemical effects to the brain as the feeling of love.

Did you miss the past two years in which every single GPU was ridiculously priced? Even now, the cheapest 1050 Ti I can find is about £170 retail.
Not that such a setup could run Odyssey well anyway.

Yes 8 galaxies of 64(?) stars, you needed a one shot drive to jump between galaxies.

Yep, I think it was 128 star systems in each alaxy.

Yes it's weird but the people who play it don't care about any of that. Everyone knows it's in perpetual alpha. Yet it still looks amazing. I don't care either if I'm honest. I feel I'm missing out.

One final thing. You know, I'm an old git. I played Elite Dangerous since 1984 starting on a BBC Micro. And when you invest a lot of your time in Elite you get this sense of loyalty. The thing is, FDev realise this and they take you for granted. (WIth the exception of Sally who is an absolute gem. I miss her). But I don't want to be taken for granted anymore.

Apart from the better eye candy, Odyssey is not for me in its present form. I don't do FPS and they cut too many corners (a la fading in and out of your ship). And I don't trust FDev one bit to introduce more content at any rate of pace. And even then, they will cut more corners. The game is virtually static and almost always without exception, everything they say they are going to introduce gets pushed further and further back from their original deadline. You end up waiting forever.

The more I think and talk about it, it's making it more likely I am to switch. Not that anyone should care. I don't expect FDev will.

Im an Old BBC man like yourself, and was hoping to finish my life with Elite with a happy smile on my face. but as things progress I feel more and more deflated. You sound very similar to myself. Every day things seem to get worst with elite and everything else improves. To modern standards Elite is nothing special on the graphics front and it very poor in other ways. X4 and Eve Online are much more pleasing on the AA, optimisation etc etc front. the FPS is terrible (im not going there). Im losing the will again. It must be a age thing.

This is a brief post to let you know that the release of Update 11 has been moved to the 8th of March. This will allow the development team more time to properly prepare content such as Fleet Carrier interiors and include other fixes.

The new release date is subject to change, however if it does we will let you know in advance.
