So then, given your comment, how would you explain how it's mostly people with high end rigs that seem to be the most vocal about problems, versus those of us with lower end rigs that have none (or very few)? I understand that we only hear about people with problems, because those without have no reason to complain, but I'm yet to see a low spec player complain, and have seen many that say Ody is fine for them
Differences in expectations, I suspect.
Me with my aging hardware and a 1080p monitor? Absolutely fine if it runs at 60FPS, and I can tolerate anything down to 30, so by now (not at launch!) it's fine for me. Similarly I just don't notice the terrible anti-aliasing - sure, it's obvious if I actually look at it, but I do not notice it during actual play. So for me, Odyssey is "adequate" performance and with a few more optimisations it might even make it above that.
Someone with the latest gear and a 4K monitor? Probably can't tolerate sub-60 FPS as much as me (because nothing
else they own runs anywhere near that slow), might be expecting more like the 120 their monitor is capable of, and doesn't want to run below native resolution either ... so they might have far better kit, but they're also requiring considerably more of it, so the performance relative to what they want is worse. If they ran it in a 1080p window locked to 60 FPS, it'd work fine for them too in terms of raw ability of their hardware to keep up, but they're hardly going to do that!
