Odyssey, and with it the ability to land on atmospheric planets, may eventually become the 'base' game, much like Horizons did, but even if that were the case you'll be waiting a very, very long time for that to happen.
What is it now? 7 years since Horizons? So around 2027!
Well Horizons was released in December 2015 and became a free expansion in October 2020, which was just under five years, and would imply around 2026 - five years after the launch of Odyssey. Truth is, nobody knows, but if combining the two would give sales a breath of life, then there's no reason why they might not, but when is anyone's guess.

If any new dlc is released by Frontier ( as i know they working on ODY only amd jo other big projects are they planned afterwards ODY is extinguiesd by content). Ehemever it may happen, still is not 100% sure they implsmt ODY into the base game as EDH did. It will be FDev decision anyway. I do not missed any major content (except grinding more materials for your suit or hand weapon) without ODY.

You would need Odyssey for atmospheric planets. Horizon's doesn't have that feature.
Thank you all for your answers. This is really the only content I am interested in from Ody but I will buy it then.
Can I get the update to? Before the update, I was able to play with my friend and now I can't because it's not updating for me.
If you're on PC you can. If not, then you can't.
Doesn't work for me. After copy/paste to command prompt and adding SeasonTwo it shortly seems to start, but then quits. Any hints?
EDIT: nvm, I found my mistake, didn't change directory first.

It was dropped not even half a***ed and they have tried to fix since with varying degrees of success and failures.
So in my opinion folk who take the few scraps and are happy then fair dues to them .
It's far from perfect even now after what ? 1.5years after it dropped .
But I understand that not everyone is of my opinion or likewise of your opinion. But it would be a sad old world if we couldn't express our differing opinions wouldnt it ??

Sorry I had to look up the aurora ? Star citizen I presume ?? Not fully up on Star citizen as I don't play .
That's what happens when there's no Beta testing, and the player community are expected to be the playtesters. Heck, in the "old days" you even had to pay money to take part in the public Beta testing!
