Greetings Commanders.

It's only Thursday - we can hardly believe it.

It's been another 'Big Update Week' and the energy from this one has been no less than the previous - all for their own rights and reasons of course! That's what makes this Galaxy so unique.

So with that, here's a little catch up following yesterday's re-group following the titanic release of Update 15.

Feedback and Known Issues.
As with any immediate, post update communication with you all - thank you, as always, for your time submitting and discussing constructive thoughts and feedback.
The release thread here is remaining ever popular and busy, so forgive individual responses to comments now becoming less. This is absolutely not to say that it isn't still being monitored during the multiple plate spinning required on this side to ensure we catch, relay and discuss as much as possible.

A few key points to note are:

Propulsion Elements.

  • For Commanders who chose to 'blaze their own trail' wholly in the direction of Exploration, Trade, Science and Support Services, the team absolutely acknowledge your continued concerns over the 'Propulsion Elements' required for the 'Thargoid Pulse Neutraliser' module, only being available to those who follow the line of Combat. To bring confirmation and reassurance to the top:
    • Known Issue: Propulsion Elements missing from Caustic Generator loot.
    • We'll of course update you when this issue is due to be addressed.
Relative Mouse Mode.
  • There was an option added to Update 15 for Commanders to be able to toggle 'relative mouse mode' in the key bind menu. It's fully understood that this addition means a great amount to many and can only apologise that this was not celebrated in the update notes on release.
  • It's really great to see, however, how gratefully received the addition was, so thank you to those who saw this as a positive despite the self discovery o7
It's Important to Note that...
  • Of course, there are additional aspects of Update 15 that many of you are passionate to know more about, including your feedback on the Fleet Carrier grouping UI, reports of an unexpected increase in Thargoid Scout aggression and others.
Please do accept our thanks for your patience as the team digest and carry out their investigations. We'll keep you in the loop of information and developments whenever possible o7

Discoveries So Far...

In true Commander fashion, those who have ventured further into the content of Update 15 since release have been sharing some amazing content with us so far - even in these very early stages of discovery.

Stellar Screenshots

We were also genuinely spoilt for choice too with this week's Stellar Screenshots winners, so it was decided - Why not?! Let's do two sets of winners! One set for global, Galaxy winners and the other strictly in relation to Update 15 new content, due to the widespread share of snapshots here.

Operation Warbucks The Thyroid War...

Worthy of a shout out here sees an absolutely huge charity event, set to take place within the Galaxy from 19th May 10 UTC.

"Operation Warbucks 3.0 is a go! 27 Elite Dangerous streamers, 4 days Back to Back Elite with Giveaways raising funds and awareness for @britishthyroid. The Charity event starts 19th May 10 UTC with all the Elite you can handle!" - OrangePheonix - SPVFA Twitter.
The official 'Tiltify' page to support this event can be found here.

And Finally...

Thank you SO MUCH, endlessly, to the Commanders who of course may not be across social media or content creators themselves.

For those who "lone wolf" the Galaxy in search of discovery or prefer to stay silent and bask.

For those who enjoy the community as a space to make friends and enjoy their company, with Elite Dangerous being the catalyst.

For the Forums (then my head goes, 'For the Mug!').

To those who may not frequent the black as often or currently at all, but still contribute with a passion and many a thought along our pathway onwards.

To ALL Commanders...

You are all so important to us - there's truly no other Community in this space like it - we appreciate you. We'll always do our best for you with all that we're able.

Thank you so much o7

And with that recap for now, Commanders, have a wonderful day and remainder of the week.

You'll be duly notified of progress on aspects of Update 15 lightly covered in this post and more, as soon as it's available to share. The team are continuing to work hard for you o7

See you in the black.

FAQ

Why do you lock these information threads now?
  • I've noticed on the odd occasion that some of you are a little frustrated at information threads being locked. With the volume of conversation, opinion and questioning that posts like these are capable of generating - some on topic, some off topic - it can be really difficult to ensure that you are kept mindfully responded to and feeling engaged with us in the flurry, as well as filtering action points from amidst it all.
  • The aim of these posts is to inform you at the time with information we immediately have.
  • It's in no way a choice to silence your thoughts regarding the post, please do continue to share your thoughts in your own threads within the Forum as these are still monitored.
But how do I find out whether an issue important to me is being looked into / How do I tell you about new issues found that are important to me?
  • As I say, please do continue to hold discussions in threads you initiate yourselves throughout the Forum. These are monitored and where we'd like to reply to every single one of you (honestly), time doesn't always easily allow this, as our focus is compiling and discussing these issues across to keep things as efficient as possible during busy periods.
  • As soon as we have information to share on any aspect of development, we will always share it. Unfortunately individual 'chasing' of issue progress isn't sustainable at the volume we receive.
  • In regards to new issues you'd like to share, your options remain:
    • Customer Support Ticket: Primarily for major stability and account issues for that tailored response.
    • Issue Tracker Ticket: Primarily for the likes of prominent gameplay and heavily impacting visual bugs you encounter.
    • Independently made Forum thread discussions (HOWEVER PLEASE NOTE, this is a more "unofficial" way of reporting issues as we might miss them! We, as CMs do our best but there's always a chance!).
