For a start it will be fixing the docking computer I hope. I have also had odd performance issue, took so long dropping out of witch space one run I nearly burned up in the sun while waiting to get control back. Finally the menu delay for the mission menu and system display actually seems to be longer. So that's three that need mending. I suspect this patch is all bug fixing.

Sure hope so. I can pilot just fine but I like the docking computer so I can sip some coffee, go to loo etc. Now It just sits there 10meters off to the right of target. A bit annoying
Funnily enough it doesn't do it on planetary outposts

Docking computer issue ? o.o Is there any specific ships that was affected by this? I've landed in my ASP and Python just fine over the past weeks.

I personally don't have any VR hardware, so am a bit out of the loop on anything on that front. What hardware and issues associated with it need a review?

Not sure if somebody already responded to your questions - It is regarding the rendering quality/image quality on Vive which is terrible at the moment. The AA issues are too bad and make the not hard to play. A lot of us were hoping that we will have some positive news on the image quality as the patch notes are so lovely and long ;)

...I agree, the NPC should be focused on the level of the job the CMDR...
Should be primarily based on location (government and security) and then on cargo/activity IMO.
Disappointing that FD seem to favour factoring in the CMDR's rank - it is completely illogical.
Why would a Elite pirate choose an Elite target? Much more likely to go after a lower rank and try to avoid the more difficult ones. Lack of immersion again.

- Main game power distributors were too good on eng/sys across the board and have been brought back to 2.0 levels

This is the ONLY fix that I disagree with. It should be kept where it is!!!!!!! Combat was way more dynamic and fun with the new distributors!

Brett personally also feel the Vive experience could be helped by making the Commodities screen curved the two bits of info your really want are right at the edges and so difficult to read (never minding the rendering issues) and having some vive controller support for the galaxy map would be ace

Nice to get the game up to date, but i have a question....

When you guys gonna fix the UI for 3 display players when bezel compensation is correct?
@outfiting you cannot read the modules description
@Galaxy map you cannot read or see the bookmark list systems
@System map you cannot read the planets and stars descriptions correctly

This are all primary config for a simulator this days, please fix ASAP, its been bad to change from Borderless to Fullscreen everytime we enter the station(outfitting, Galaxy map, system map)

Other thing thats making me really sad, is that time it takes to the mission "stand by" till you get them . i was ranking empire and it took more time to take the missions than complete them.

ty for the update and pls fix that.

A question none of the 'grind-complainers' can answer so far: why do you need to get everything within some weeks of release? Why not simply accept that the top two ranks take a lot of time, and ignore them for the time being? Its always the same around here:

New ships? Oh no, I need them ASAP. Quickly, lets grind, then complain about the grind!
Powerplay? Oh no, I need to be rank5 ASAP! Quickly, lets grind, then complain about the grind!
Rankings? Oh no, I need to be triple elite ASAP! Quickly, lets grind, then complain about the grind!
Engineers? Oh no, I need to have the highest quality mods ASAP! Quickly, lets grind, then complain about the grind!

Every time FD does anything the same people do the same things with the same results and post the same complaints in the same ways. Hint: You don't *need* any of that, and certainly not ASAP, so you dont have to 'grind', but you can if you want to. And apparantly you can also grind if you dont want to. :p

Because of the immense power creep this has brought with it.

In my situation I'm Combat Dangerous and Trade Elite so I will continue to see Dangerous - Elite NPC's in my interdiction events. My Trade cutter can hold it's own to escape but I will still get chained unless I HW and get lucky enough to not be tagged by another NPC on mission return. The whole process makes my play time tedious.

Getting those upgrades help to level the playing field so I'm not constantly on the defensive and add some enjoyment back into the game. Don't get me wrong, I love the new AI, but not all the time. Dangerous plus is supposed to be rare.

Great patch. Loved the permit fix and the AI tuning. I'm not really fond of the pay rep to force/change special effects, but it sure attenuates the main RNG problem. But I see it as a band-aid only. The real solution to balance the effort/reward problem must revolve around module storage and material barter.

I like the rarity mechanic. That's what makes Diamonds in Minecraft so desirable and precious. But in Elite, "Diamonds" (such as Polonium and friends) are harder to find because of the randomness in the spawn. Besides planets being more prompt to have these materials, it's still too random and can result in hours of wasted time. And without messing with the current system, adding the barter layer could work and reward the player for all those useless materials collected while searching for the true gems.

As someone spoke before in this thread, materials are a new type of currency. They don't and shouldn't compete directly with credits as the looting experience should not be simply replaced by a buy materials for credits mechanic. However, Engineers could provide some sort of black market that could allow material trade to happen in a balanced way, mitigating the frustration and keeping the same looting system we have now.

So, if you happen to miss a specific material, the Engineer could provide it for you at a cost. That cost would be based on a conversion table based on the rare class each material has. For instance:

1 Very Rare = 4 Very Rare different from what is needed
1 Very Rare = 8 Rare (any) = 16 Standard (any) 32 Common (any) = 64 Very Common (any)

So, as an example, if I needed Core Dynamics Composites, I could trade it for:
- 4x Datamined Wake Exceptions (VRare) OR
- 8x Polonium (Rare - lol) OR
- 16x Conductive Ceramics (Std) OR
- 32x Zinc (Com) OR
- 64x Carbon (VCom)

This would also allow getting multiple rares from a Very Rare (at different rates).

Just my two cents.

FD if you need to keep the RNG aspect for some reason, try this thought on, have an RNG component at each starport wherein CMDRs can arrive and spin the wheel to see what Engineer is available today. The CMDR then arrives at the Engineer shop. The CMDr can purchase those mods and special effects at the FD store in cash for those that dont have the in game CRs and also available for CRs for those CMDRs that have invested time in making those CRs.

Make some special item available for those CMDrs who already obtained eng mods by tolled over the original Eng design.

Consider allowing only power play NPCs have ANY eng mods. Is it not for those CMDrs that constantly request you for greater challenege that you invested in the power play dynamic??

all people waving goodbye and ridiculing people rage quitting:

Every single one leaving and dropping a (not welcomed) note in the forum is just a fragment of people leaving in total as there's only a ridiculously small number of people "saying goodbye" in the forum. Every single one of us AND FDev should be alarmed by these waves of "quitters" as they are a sign of a decreasing player base.

If you all wish to play this game in the whole 10+ year span it's planned to exist, think about that.

Elite-Not-So-Dangerous has a really screwed reputation, just google it as if you would be a potential buyer. Most reviews are worse than the game really is, but hey... every single "rage quitter" telling how he was ridiculed and "gitguded" worsens the situation.

Now, salt and pepper please as I', obviously a life span carebear *sigh*.

So there is a new engineer in the founders system?

The issue isn't 100% related to an engineer being in a system, but have had higher reports that having an engineer in a system causes the missions to go awry.

That's a pretty sketchy backtracking non-answer Brett ;) Go on, you know you want to tell us why Shinrarta was affected by the issue. We won't tell.

Quick, everyone find the other systems where the missions aren't working right!

I don't think of reputation as a commodity to be freely traded away. The engineer suddenly likes you two levels less because you wanted an experimental effect?

Immersion, no.
.
Don't see it as liking you more or less. It's more like, you did something for him, so he owes you a favour. Now you call in the favour. If you want more of that, you better also do something for him again. :)

I'm not playing this game anymore. Remove RNG from upgrades and I might consider caring about Elite once again.

I agree....

Or locate these assassin level NPCs to PP or rez/Cz only so that Eng mods arent necessary to enjoy the game and at the same time that intensity exists for those that want it and want to engage the RNG eng process.

FD one of your touted offerings til now was choice! Solo, private and open as well as a galaxy of activities ....bring choce back by localizing this NPC difficulty and their eng mods.

If you believe at what you say. You are very naive person. If someone SAY. That don't mean they DO. Everytime when i see ppl like them, i just find them playing a game. Still.. after all of what they say. And FD can see that by a REAL statistic. Not a bull     like steamspy steamchart or whatever. They have a real statistic. And so far so very good.
