I love jokes, but everything has time and place. I love that they are FINALLY rolling out the hotfix. Couldn't it have been left at that? What's the point of referring to the community outrage on pretty much all social media simply as "salt"?

Frankly, that one little joke made me wonder if that's why they're taking so long with fixing their game. After all, what's the harm? They'll just be salty at most.

So yeah. I really couldn't take this joke after seeing the storm post 2.3 release.

Salty.

Likely all I'll be able to do. Kind of disconnected from the galaxy, unless there's a hidden Neutron Star for the 250ly jump back.

Well I meant for the forums bashing :D

I should make it back from Heart and Soul today... Start prepping my Cobra Mk3 for Saturday.

Consoles remind me of the little kitten that dreams of growing up to be a lion...kind of makes you want to pat them on the head and say "How adorable."

I used to be a console player for quite a long time, but they've lost me with the current generation.
The concept has lots of advantages, but since I've got a taste of PC gaming, I do not intend to look back... now if if I could use the keyboard for gaming without looking down from the screen.

"Fixed an issue whereby galaxy and system map popups were offset on resolutions other than 1920x1080"

This makes it sound like the problem didn't effect 1920x1080? I and a lot of others also suffered this problem at 1080p, hope it is fixed for us also?

This was a self-inflicted wound. It is a perfect example of the adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." If FDev didn't go and change things in the galaxy map for 2.3, we wouldn't even be talking about this now. Oops, more salt.

Look, the quality of the product is a matter of organization and sense for responsibility. If I can do my job under the pressure of time, with shortage of resources and zero tolerance for mistakes, why someone else couldn’t? Am I something special? I doubt.

Seeing the same story after every major update leads me to conclusion, that there is something wrong in FD. Personally, I prefer to say * lack of organization and sense for responsibility* to not to say *inability, incompetence and disinterest*.

It is just different in every part of software dev. I'm in telecom and for everything we have an established tolerance for eff ups. I personally define that tolerance on every project I get. Getting everything to be good 99% of the time is prohibitively costly but necessary on high priority items (in this industry that is typically PPV and adult entertainment). On other things, like a channel guide, we can tolerate some inconvenience to our customers so that we can work more quickly. I'm not trying to make a case for how Frontier deals with things but, as I hope you see, every situation is different.

Thanks Frontier!

"Farmed salt from the community for usage later."

That's only reasonable, afterall, you went through great length sowing plenty of it.

Adding to the harvest, is that player journal an in-game thing now at last ?

I love how y people have gotten over bugs present in release of the 2.3 update. First they complained that there wasn't enough content and grew inpatient waiting for 2.3. Now that the release is out, people can't be happy they got a patch and instead complain that their release wasn't perfect. Generally, being twits. Apparently there's a "naval officer" acting like whatever he does is exactly like building a game world. They're probably that one ensign nobody can stand. The rest of you probably can't read computer language yet think you know better than the guys that have been doing this for years.

The dips complaining about bugs have no idea the amount of work that goes into this. I've taken coding classes in college, and I've seen first hand how bugs can happen at total random, or because some obscure conditions were met that caused the bug. One change can affect something elsewhere and it can get through the cracks. But no, keep talking smack to a group of developers that came to the space sim community and asked to kickstart this project out of love and devotion to the original games. I get the feeling Dangerous is what Braben had originally envisioned but was limited by the hardware of the time.

They didn't have to do any of this, you stupid jackasses. We could NOT have a space sim more functional than that five year mess that shall not be named here. You could NOT have something to complain about like a child throwing a tantrum because your iPhone wasn't the right color.

I'm sure you can see why the XBOX community is so upset.
they own an xbox..i would ne upset too :x

but yeah...it would be nice to see it all fixed, they took on a big project to support consoles...and i cant say i approve of that decision cause with microsoft..its such a time and resource consuming deal..no turning back now though..

-Because we prefer it?

Why insult it?

Im a PC guy all the way, that being said, I think you guys on console bring a MAJOR addition to the gaming community, and the PC gamers such as myself have a great deal to thank you for. Console games make up a massive chunk of software sales and that income goes towards other software development for pc/mac and console alike. No hate from here my friend :)

The player journal has been in since 2.2 AFAIK.

Once visited Atlanta during the middle of summer for a DragonCon. I swear, it was like walking around on Venus.

They don't call it Hotlanta for nothing.

I am looking forward to late afternoon thunderstorm though. You can almost predict their timing based on how hot and humid it is during the day.
