Will do
Took on too many black box missions and hot assassinated by 'apolcalypse' a npc python twice, in my dbx, didnt have 15000 cr of goods to drop, so am going to take a break. Visited black fleet and tilliana's lament instead

The wiki is right, it is Baron. I worked through the Empire ranks up to Baron yesterday. Permits appeared as when expected per the wiki.

Anyhow is there anything in these permit systems, apart from a few tourist beacons.

For the most part no, but some have a rare good, or in other cases offer cheaper items (CQC) or every item (Shinrartae). Sol has an achievement/trophy tied to visiting it.

Yup. The three capitals plus Sirius and Shinrarta Dezhra.

Edit: the OP omits to mentiona that Alioth and Shinrarta Dezhra have engineers (Bill Turner and Lori Jameson respectively).

Is anyone having problems getting permit invites? I've been selling exploration data (just back from a long trip). Tried mode switching on the mission board but it's not obviously changing and not had either an engineer invite for qwent (despite being allied with sirius, or a permit invite for 3 sextanis despite being allied with 3 sextanis inc and trying at least to mode switch.

For permit invites make sure you are in a system where the faction exists and that is also under 15ly from locked system. I’m guessing you’re after the Sirius permit and you’re around Sothos - the Sirius permit never spawns there.

Already have the sirius permit and allied with them (But still don't have the engineer invite for some reason). Actually i was trying to pick up the sextanis permit but it looks like that's a long standing impossible to get one. Managed to get the Allioth Permit without any problems. Allied with the black fleet too but no Talilia permit at bulgarin depot... perhaps it's just me

Crom Silver Boys and Luyten 347-14 Prison Colony are in retreat. Can someone help them out?

I'm thinking this whole Tiliala thing may be triggering a wave of copy cats. Might need to just re-base PFs and prevent them from entering permit systems if this pans out as true.

The issue isn't whether they have a presence in ther permit'd system. You have to have a permit already to get that. The issue is them getting moved out of all other systems so there's nowhere for a CMDR without the permit to get one.

The new "Exile" status and Wells Class Cruiser for the permit givers should nullify this issue. I've not seen it action however.

Well, the Galmap disagrees, so I'm voting with the Galmap. May visit later and see if that clears it up.

Edit: Seems permits don't get updated automagically, so I just fixed it - seems some joker switched it 10 days ago [up]

OP should be updated to note that exploration is not as hard as it seems, Sag A* + hundreds of neutrons might have been the old way.

I took a trip for about 5kly in a jumpannie, mostly poot'n'scooting normal stars and surface scanning water worlds/gas giants, and had the 16mil in data to get 3 full permits. I have very few left to go.

Using the "Road to Riches" route planner will net you a lot of credits from exploration fairly quickly too, I highly recommend it for building up allied status with controlling factions: http://edtools.ddns.net/expl.php

I am grinding for terra matter, very few missions and I failed at hatchbreaking and surface assassination so going backwards, switched to dolphin and running short range passengers now, although wanted and hostile.
