Updated Permit List

Being Allied doesn't help. The requirements for the permit are:

1) Be Elite in Exploration Or Combat Or Trading
OR
2) Be a kickstarter backer

Has nothing to do with faction status.

Yup I know that and that's what I'm seeing we can change through game play. Give allied members of the pilots federation access to their home. Sounds reasonable to me.

Reasonable yes but it would be a bit of an annoyance to the people that grinded to Elite and also the people who paid tons of money for kickstarter.
They'd have to remove the 10% discount to modules and ships...

Haven't heard any complaints so far, a few it can't be done but no negative folk. By the way I'm a backer and there's a whole heap of backers working toward this goal.

The access wouldn't mean that they would get the benefits just access to the system

No thanks. At the moment that's the only reason to get elite.

Any chance of indicating the easiest permits to acquire that are not related to military faction rank?

I think it would be obvious since I indicate no rank requirement where there is none. Are you saying I should say "No rank required" in the handful of Federation-controlled systems that have nothing to do with military rank?

The ones with bases outside the permit system are the easiest ones. They are all commented, although a comment on the remaining others that have no base might be nice. I don't think they will ever change, they seem to have very high influence yet no sign of any war, maybe they have a 'doesn't expand' property.
Not sure if it is common knowledge, but dropping 5 to 10 mcr of exploration data in a station will get you straight to allied and the permit. Can't be easier than that if you ever explore

This is actually one of the hidden perks of exploration. Come to think of it, this may actually be worthy of a separate thread. Too many explorers are unaware of the level of power they have when dumping huge amounts of exploration data, and how they may parlay that exploration data to their best advantage.

My expedition to NGC 3199 allowed me access to Alioth, Sirus, Isinor, and Van Maanen's Star controlling factions because all those factions controlled stations outside their home system. At the time, those were the only permits I was able to get, but since then more permit-granting factions have gained stations of their own.

Get the Terra Mater permit from Hecate this will give you access to 24t of illegal rare commodity, Hecate has practically been taken over by the brother hood of terra mater.
Jotun permit also looks much easier to get now (40 hours + for me, I was only getting 1-2 missions a day) as the dukes of Jotun have taken over local system Djaujang, also gives you access to 32t of rare commodities

Can't agree with this. Cheapens a lot of people's effort that got it via Elite rank. Founder's World access is worth the "grind", without it why would you bother obtaining Elite...

Sorry don't want to derail this thread but a lot of people aren't playing a game of high scores where elite matters to them. As long as you keep playing no. Matter how good you are you will become triple elite anyway. It's just a matter of time.

Back to permit discussion.

Tiliala Report:
Varpet and Akandinigua are decent for ranking REP, similar and close together
Neither have a Tiliala controled station even though they are by far the largest party

Conservatives of Tiliala are a Dictatorship, so there are good Assassination missions and not too much illegal activity required to REP

Tiliala System is Large Agri & Extraction
3 stations very close together, 0 outposts

There are Fed and Imperial factions in system.
Nothing particularly special about it.

How recent are some of the entries in the permit list? EDIT: Nm,, Last edited by CMDR Swift Arrow; 15/05/2015 at 9:36 PM.
RE: Nebula areas and sectors with permit systems, specifically:

Vela Dark region
California Nebula
Bubble Nebula

I can't find any systems which require permits. Looking back at old threads, I notice that CALIFORNIA SECTOR IR-W D1-27 is specifically mentioned as requiring a permit, however I just recently went through there, and it didn't require one. Am en route to Bubble Nebula and i cant see anything needing a permit either. I also noticed that Vela Dark Region, while bordering the Regor Sector, requires no permits anywhere I can see.

Lastly, as mentioned by the Unknown Artefact threads, Bovomit sector is a bit weird, and "Requires ",, i.e requires (blank). Might be worth mentioning, rather than it requiring a permit. Could be a bug, but still

PS tried to +rep, but already did in the past, coz this thread is really useful :)

You are right, i have been unable to find specific systems that were locked. There used to be systems that would show up as locked, but other times unlocked, as part of a bug, which would explain why I found the information in old threads.

I have moved those regions with supposed systems (but not entirely locked out) into a special sub-section.

Megrez now has a station controlled by the Phekda Society; incidentally, they're supposedly fixing the issue with the Phekda permit not showing up in your permit list in 1.3.
