Doesn't really matter if you have a group of players actively lock down an entire system by camping out inside stations and at meeting points, constantly forcing instance changes to have more unarmed player ships spawn, and then kill them with a few shots while exploiting loopholes in the C&P system.

As I said in another thread, I don't really have a problem with PvP in general, but what you guys did at Omega isn't PvP, it's just making the game unplayable for other people.

What does that have to do with my comment with regards to High Security system mechanics?

I was referring to your comment about "evade and delay".

Doesn't really work that way when you have a ganker ship shoot you on a planet immediately after spawning because he camps there for hours, or if you spawn inside a station where gankers are sitting inside the station, following you out of the mailslot and start blasting you as soon as you're out of the NFZ.

As I said, I don't have a problem with other players trying to shoot me, but if this is the "PvP" you people are bringing into the game, you don't need to act all surprised when you're getting shunned by the wider player base.

It's probably worth pointing out that some of the gankers are winging-up with explorers in DW2 in an attempt to allow their buddies to defeat the block function.

If it was me, I'd probably think twice about winging up with some randomer who suddenly wants to be your fwend on DW2.

Oh yeah, and multicrewing with explorer CMDRs to use up their chaff and heatsinks, or attacking them with their own SLF, really great gameplay, that one.

This right here. The utter lack of respect for one not wanting to be your content is the problem. We are not salty over space pixels, we're salty about the simple disrespect of my attempts to not be around you when you're pew pewing everything and everybody you see because you're bored.

In a hypothetical scenario; Would you like to hang out with me despite the fact that I like busting out car windows and pushing old people down stairs? I find it fun and therefore I am allowed to do it. So that means you should too, because I said it's fun. I know it's exaggerated, but it's about the concept.

My comment about evade and delay was for supercruise interdictions.

As for your comment about the landing site - perhaps landing at a super popular location and logging off there until a super popular date and time isn't the bestest of ideas?

, or if you spawn inside a station where gankers are sitting inside the station, following you out of the mailslot and start blasting you as soon as you're out of the NFZ.

Perhaps you should pay attention to your sensors and not stray too far away from the mailslot if there are gankers following you out of the station? Or just not undock at all if you think folks are up to no good?

That being said though, I do agree that stations should be a little more agressive towards players. Unfortunately if that happened the carebears would wind up running afoul of it more than any gankers, and the forums and reddit would go absolutely insane.

Still plenty of people in Open. And many who have elected to run in PG/Solo for DW2 will venture back out into open when it's all over. Again, I don't see what this has to do with my original comment.

Then make it the bestest of ideas. Stop ruining the fun for other people. I understand that some like pew pew, but do respect others who do not. Period.

Perhaps you should help by working with the ones trying to avoid being content, instead of giving advice. Because this is not helpful, and one can only do so much when alone, and that is not much at all. Period.

Then fix the C&P and make it actually fking work, I'm sick of accidentally sneezing in the general vicinity of any police NPC and I get slapped with a noteriety of 10 with stupid high bounty.

There, answers to your answers

This was a very fair and objective video, Yamiks, and a good analysis of a wide range of pertinent points on the subject. Hopefully, it will encourage similarly fair discussion, although I expect the pitchforks will start waving in this thread any minute now. Good thing I'm off to bed. I'll check in tomorrow.

Nice video, Yamiks!

Come gank with us on the Distant Ganks 2 expedition!

So many explorer's who don't know how to build their ship properly!

I'm one of them!
Thanks for invite, thou I'm there to film B-reel not make some poor sod regret playing the game in non-solo mode! =}

1. I'm enjoying myself, but I'll probably turn back soon. I'm a bubble boy - can't do this deeps space stuff for too long.

2. I'm happy to work with and advise anyone who wants to improve and survive in Open Play. I am not, however, willing to cede Open Play to those who do not wish to be interacted with.

3. So you're still having problems with C&P from a PvE standpoint? I really don't understand why that is. A skilled player (except on the rarest of occasions) will only gain bounties and notoriety when they want to.

I didn't expect to end up agreeing with so many points in that video.

Even the one about complaints. In theory I like to see people complain on the forums because it raises awareness about issues, but seeing how this forum is turning more and more into players screaming at walls and at each other (no, the occasional "feedback is being passed on" reply is nothing to me anymore), maybe complaining has become useless.

Maybe people should take different action. Like not playing for a week or two. Send a real signal up that "feedback chain". Or refraining from buying those MTX. I mean, if your Conda gets popped, you're still in denial about the game's lacking C&P mechanics, and then go buy a skin to drown your sorrow as you respanw some hundred lys away, then it really is your fault.

Because AI is ungodly dumb

Doesn't matter. It is, and will still continue to be a problem until crime and punishment system is actually resembling Crime and Punishment. At it is now, it's not even a discouragement, it's like you may not even have police to begin with, no matter the "security" of a system

Problem is that C&P can never be that as long as FD take cues from the more...loud proponents of C&P.

C&P absolutely needs to be more than "punish people for murder", and until it is, it will do nothing to discourage said murder.

Yeah, well, there wasn't much supercruise interdicting in the ganker streams I watched on Sunday. It was hours upon hours of staring at the mailslot waiting for players to spawn in the station and players to spawn on the planet surface.

Look, I don't need tactical advice to survive the silly meta games you and your ilk call "PvP" these days, I just need people like that out of my game. Luckily there are ways to do that in Elite, so, problem solved.

I don't see what this has to do with my original comment.

Yeah, well, of course you don't.

Look, Elite is a game that allows you to engage with other players in a multitude of ways. You can go bounty hunt, you can pirate, you can mine, you can explore, you can do power play, you can organize an expedition to the other side of the galaxy and bring together 10.000 players doing so, and you can also camp out at stations mindlessly killing players hours upon hours on end while manically laughing your behind off on your Twitch stream. Some of these activities have a future, other's don't.

Everyone in Elite chooses how they want to engage with other players. You guys chose to shoot down unarmed exploration ships and make a whole system unplayable in open for an evening. Of course, you can defend this by saying it's allowed within the game's system, and it is, no question. It's also incredibly stupid, of course, because just because the game allows you to do something doesn't mean it doesn't have consequences.

Just the other night I saw you act all surprised and shocked how Mobius dared to throw you out of its PG. This is one of those consequences. People tend to play with each other when they enjoy doing so. You guys chose a type of gameplay that doesn't bring other players enjoyment, and now some people have decided they don't want to have people like this in their private groups. Some other people are just blocking all of you guys from the list your spokesperson so helpfully provided a week ago.

There are ways of PvP that players of Elite tend to enjoy and accept, and there are other ways that aren't accepted by the wide majority of the community. You guys chose the latter ones, and now you'll just have too accept that a lot of people won't really play their game with you any longer.

Also blocking on consoles is apparently different, and that should be made clear.

Saving this so I can come back to it later.
