Vin's Rares, Oddities, and Curious Commodities

First off, let me say that for all you folks saying that you can't make a living Trading in Open, you totally can. I've made about 20M in the past couple of days without even really trying.

Second, where the heck is everyone? I've been flying this gypsy wagon of a Python around, rares trading, hauling, and playing the markets since early yesterday. I'd have thought I would run into at least a pirate or two by now. All I've run into is one other CMDR in a Python who, judging by the loadout, was a hauler himself.

You brigands and bandits really need to step it up - this Python is fat and juicy, yo :D

(I know, I know, Open is pretty dead unless you're in the high traffic zones, but I would have expected Rares systems at least to have a pirate or two buzzing around in them here and there).

No wonder.
A real Trader flies a T-Ship sir.

T-7 can't land at medium pads, T-6 has too limited cargo space.

If Frontier were to do the T-7 a solid and make it a medium, I'd be happy to take it out for a spin.

The first time I took my T-7 out for a spin around the no fire zone at homeport,
Upon re-entery I rolled slightly towards my dock n my engines got hung up in the end of the slot.. I'm sitting there dangling over the bays trying anything to get loose.
I prolly would have got free after long if not for that horrible panic inducing kill timer..Well they bleww me up.

I owned one for a while and did enjoy it, but when I got the Python it really made the thing obsolete. Sure, the cost/insurance is a bit higher for the Python, but so is the survivability.

T-7 - show it some love, FD. Drop it to Medium, give it 300T. She'll be a superstar.

Now, back to those missing pirates...

I will definitely be looking for that fat, juicy, green friend marker slowly trundling about the gal map:)

I don't have any cargo space available in my FdL (pretty much taken up with HRP's & SCB's) but I'll bring bungee cords to strap any ill gotten gains to my hood.

Thanks, sir! With some of the stuff I've got, even 2T of space will be worth it ;)

If the Type-7 became a medium pad ship, I'd probably be using one for the bulk of my BGS work.

I like the Python, but it would be more fun to have to run from a NPC occasionally.

Agreed!

Make the Python a large pad ship instead
I get your point, but it does actually fit in the medium pad. It is a bit of a tardis compared to the Type-7, as is the Anaconda compared to the Type-9.

The real problem is that the Type 7 is just a tiny bit tall for the medium pad, not a good design to make a ship just a fraction too large. The type-6 is the same on the small pad.

Nerfing the Python isn't the answer.

Agreed. There is nothing "wrong" with the Python. Leave t be.
The issue is with the T-Ships. Any day Frontier....

This weekend was madness at the systems of one of the best trading routes from eddb.io. So many cmdr's flying. Was nice to see a lot of slave trading :).

You remember that time when you were just going from rares site to rares site in a fat, overladen Python, and some pirate tried to steal your decadent, luxurious, highly valuable cargo?

Member that?!?!

...yeah, no, me neither.

(I promise to switch to the T-7 as soon as I have time to go get some engineering done.)

Mods, can you please change the title of this thread to:

"Vin's Rares, Oddities, and Curious Commodities"

That has a better ring to it.

I take it you're dipping into the refreshments again?

No, man! Well, I cook on Sunday nights, and so I drink beer while I'm doing so...

But that does have a better ring to it, does it not?

By the way - I'm not on at the moment, but as I was passing through Heike earlier, I could have sworn I saw a Python meandering about, bursting at the seams, and with smoke and steam billowing out of its stacks.

...struggling under the weight of all its "tasty cargo", if you will. ;)

Yes, I agree that it sounds better:)
