So I've just hyper jumped from Styx to LHS 3006. On re-entry, just before re-emerging around the star... the oddest thing happened. For a split second there was a distinct image of a spaceman floating just in front of me (my ship)! Now I'm completely open to the idea that this is just me having played too long and seeing random things in blips of dust, but damn was that a strange moment. I guess my question is, has anyone else noticed anything strange while making a hyper jump?!

If it is ED's fiction is headed in an interesting direction indeed.
The thing is, this is my first Elite game (never played any of the others) but people speak about hyperspace (witch-space?) as being a weird and wonderful place in the old games. I can't help but wonder if what we currently see in the beta is only a snippet of what it will end up being. Even if what I saw was just a 'blip of dust' I love the idea of hyperspace being this otherworldly domain that is as much mental as it is physical.
