This sounds like you have set the german speech recognition engine in VoiceMacro, try
checking the recognizer settings and verify you selected english recognizer engine
BTW - VoiceMacro does not do the recognizing job, this is done via API by the Microsoft Speech Recognizer engine built-in Windows, so using other software will not change anything speech recognition related

"Shields" is not very good to use as command, too short! I strongly recommend using 2 or 3 words where recognizing works way better, and you will have practically NEVER any unwanted recognitions by noise, bumps to the micro or while talking, sneezing etc... try using "activate shields", or "toggle shields" as command instead
Also make sure you set the correct default microphone in Windows, otherwise VoiceMacro might listen to you via your webcam instead of your Headset
