Voyager 1 & 2 Unidentified Signals

When I read this I was thinking of the ED galaxy map and for a split second thought "but Voyager just left our galaxy" and then remembered it has actually just left our solar system and the scale of the universe hit home again.

I reckon Voyager 1 is stuck between systems somewhere so perhaps we can't hyperspace jump to it (no star in the vicinity)

at a guess i'd say we wont see it until we get to land on planets, i would expect to find it in a museum somewhere in the Sol system. i would expect that humanity would send a mission out to collect it long before 3300.

it would be a nice wink , but is this able to be done ? making a probe travelling non stop in space... and how would you find it lol :p

I don't know how you'd find it, I would be willing to bet that you can work out where about would it be in a thousand years, I also bet that there would be people out there who would go nuts trying to find it.
Would definitely be a nice nod from Frontier, anyways just an idea :)

nice one Rhodie, props to you. How on earth did you know in what direction to travel given orbits and positions of plantets are all different in game!?

I must admit to feeling a bit strange when I got to the probe. When taking that screenie I moved in very carefully, and when you get close you can hear the "Greetings from Earth" messages played out in all the languages. I also wanted to pop out and give the Gold Disk a bit of a polish!

I have a slightly mixed feeling here ...

1) I'm DELIGHTED to see Voyager(s) in the game .. I think that is VERY awesome (I hope we'll find the Apollo 11's flag someday? Cassini out by Saturn, who knows maybe even Rosetta someday .. ? :D)

2) I also really like the touch which is the voices, and in different languages, also glad to hear DBOBE's voice on Voyager, immortalised forever within the game ...

Thing is DBOBE is ALREADY immortalised within the game imho .. so what's missing for me here, is Carl Sagan's dulcet tone ... perhaps if we could hack into the gold disc, via the radio module, we could hear him say something?

I think V1 and V2 are a great great Easter Egg but, as Carl Sagan did so much to promote Voyager, and other people like Sir Tim Berners Lee for instance, are also highly instrumental in inspiring the technologies which make Elite possible (and which DBOBE has made flesh) I hope other secrets will spread it around a little? :) .. Don't change it, though I hope FDEV can one day add ... is my 0.0002 credits.
