VPC Constellation Alpha Prime secondary fire

Hi there. I am about to move from X52 PRO to the VPC Alpha Prime with MongoosT-50CM3 throttle. On the X52 PRO we have this pinkie trigger that we use for the secondary fire group. On the Alpha Prime that lever is an axis, which is used for the brakes on the av sims. My question is would it be possible to make it work as a secondary trigger? If not, what is being used as such? I want to be able to fire primary and secondary weapons independent of each other. Thanks for help.

not that i own one but it should just be a case of rebinding it as such.............
this is an eg of users set up https://edrefcard.info/binds/sihnab which you can download and try out

which is from this site which can generate a ref card from your bindfile iff you want to set your own custom setup
Yea, I was looking at this site at some point. They using one of the buttons for the secondary fire and that lever for the hand brake. I've heard it is possible but, I just don't see how to make something that is operating like a slider to be a switch.

Isn't the "Next Jump Dest" in that refcard link equivalent to your X52 pinkie trigger meaning you don't have to use the lever for that purpose?

(looks like a great set of controls, enjoy)

Virpil has a dual-stage trigger. Why not use the second stage for the secondary group in parallel with the pickle button (that is, bind both to the secondary fire)? This way you can shoot both groups with one finger, yet use just the sec group on its own when needed (mostly for scanners and limpets). I find this the most ergonomical way to do: first stage for lasers, second for kinetics; or first for ToT or special effects guns (eg corrosive MC), second for alpha damage dealers (cannons, PA, frags). Use the pinky lever for countermeasures, SCB, FA off or similar. And, yes, E: D can bind an axis as a button natively, no extra shenanigans needed.

I just don't see how to make something that is operating like a slider to be a switch.
some noobs when binding for the first time have mistakenly bound there axis input to a digital input and then complain its either 100% or zero with nothing inbetween
ergo there axsis input is behaving like a switch when triggered🤷‍♂️
therefore primary & secondary fire are digital inputs only period.
if you bind them to a controller axsis they will still behave just so.....* either on or off per say

The Virpil software is complicated, but with it you can make the stick do a lot of things that it can't out of the box.

The one thing that I found helped a lot, especially if you want to be able to use keystrokes as well as buttons is the program antimicrox, which will allow any button to produce a keystroke. So if you want a button on the stick to perform the same action as a button on the throttle and a mouse button you can set up a bind to a keystroke and then have both the joystick buttons mimic the keystroke using antimicrox and use the mouse software to get the mouse button to also mimic the keystroke.
