VR Galaxy Map with Gamepad

I'm having a nightmare navigating the galaxy map in VR. I have watched a couple of youtube videos with ideas. The best I've seen was some Aussie bloke using his gamepad. Unfortunately he did not have a link with his bindings, and the video quality was not good enough for me to read them off the screen.
Does anybody have a sheet or guide on bindings for a gamepad in VR Galaxy mode please?

This is the biggest show stopper for me playing Elite in VR. More than once I've had to do an emergency course change and I only managed it by logging off and coming vack in 2d. At least the developers should give us a tab option of a 3d map or 2d map when using VR

I've set mine up binding the joystick, works like a charm, I was using the xbox controller, but that was a pain having an extra peripheral to pick up, if you use a stick, bind that.

I am using the CH Throttle and Fighterstick, which is great for most of the game. I'm not sure what bindings to use on the Galaxy Map.

I use the rudder twist to spin around, and up and down for back and fore, you can use the mouse for everything else, I can navigate the map perfectly this way.

I use a wired 360 pad for this and it works well.. settings below..

I've set the X and B buttons to navigate through the tabs..

Thanks very much. I've never used a pad before, so I don't know some of your symbols, but I'll try to muddle through.

Update. I've managed to set the bindings and it seems quite intuitive. Mega thanks for your advice. I'm going to switch to vive to test it out.

you're welcome, I can't take full credit for them, I'm sure I got them from somewhere else and just fiddled with them a bit.

Oh, top tip.... don't forget to make a backup copy of your Binds file, when FD do an update (say 2.3 goes live) this can sometimes get overwritten and it saves having to go through all this again (Bind file is found at C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings)

Thanks dude. They work perfect for me.

The Galaxy map is much better now that I'm using a game pad. I did my first successful long journey in VR. It's much easier to navigate the map and select stars.

I found out about the bind files from this forum and I back up before I make any significant changes.
