I understand why the Beta is ending tomorrow, and I can support it. Does not mean I have to be happy, but I accept it and am not complaining.
I just wanted to post a quick(ish) 2 cents overview of my thoughts. I don't know if I will be able to squeeze in play time tonight or not.
I am thankful to have been able to check out the beta, even if it wasn't as long as I may have wanted. It did give me a taste of what the franchise will be like. It also gave me hope that if I cannot immediately get in to play with the "big boys" in the conservation credit area, with perserverance and patience, I should be able to start enjoying that aspect as well. (I did get 1 lion bred and released)
Controlling the various aspects will take time and patience again. But the AI is decent enough to make it so that I do not (or should not) have to baby sit the employees all the time, unless I really want to. The building by piece instead of blueprint will take time and effort on my part to learn how to do effeiciently and well, but it is an option as there are plenty (and will be more) blueprints to cover many of the needs that I may have. Habitat building is fairly easy, but can be challengingly annoying to get the walls the way I truly want them.
I have had fun watching the animals in close up, orbitting camera mode, even when I find it strange to watch the vet carrying the box. I don't always understand what the animals or the guests need or what they are complaining about, but that may become clearer as I play the game more steadily, or do more of the campaign. But using the animal information/opinion to create the habitat environment worked well for me. I may not have made the neatest or nicest looking habitats, but the animals were satisfied with them, as long as the keepers did their jobs.
Not saying that there aren't negatives and problems with the game. But since this is a beta, and I have no idea what wasn't included from the full game, or what may still be fixed, I am not commenting on those.
I know that there will be times of high involvement and times of waiting on my end. But I have come to expect that from any type of simulation. That is the way I enjoy playing them.
All in all, I am looking forward to the November release and finding myself addicted to Planet Zoo, at least for awhile.
