Yes if it was mandatory it would be wrong. What his and mine and others point here is that you paid for the season already and now you're paying on top of that to play it on release day. FD are then making everyone else wait to play it that paid for it. Some people have issues with that.

2.3 hasn't been released yet, so no, you're not paying to play it on release day. You'll play it on release day for free. Because it'll be, you know, released.

Its nothing like that at all, and even if it were you could simply say "My good man, you insult me with your offer, be gone with you. I will await my Ice cream". You are suggesting that you are paying for something twice, which you aren't. Your hypothetical chef isn't feeding you a scoop now, charging you for it and then removing said scoop from the final product and charging you again.
If you want to go down the food route (and I wish you wouldn't) its more akin to going wine tasting where you pay up front to taste it and get a couple of bottles chucked in to take home at the end OR you just go and buy the wine (cheaper) without tasting it and go and get drunk.

Where your entire failure is that you blame FD for "paid beta access". The very simple truth is that it is not FD's fault at all. If you need to "blame" someone. Blame the players that ARE willing to pay.

If you think they never fix bugs you just need to take a look at the beta update threads to be proven wrong. That's also the reason I know you are trolling. You know you are wrong and how easy it it to prove you wrong, and still you don't care. Stop lying. Stop throwing crap around. Otherwise it's clear that you are a troll.
It's not all about bugchasing*, there's valuable feedback to be gathered as well. EG you currently lose your ship name and ID when you're killed. I left an extremely valuable & useful feedback post questioning whether that's deliberate. I have also made a gloriously insightful suggestion regarding launcher usability.

No, it's not an "entire" failure. Don't be so dramatic and short sighted. FD don't have to charge either much like most other companies don't charge. Are you saying these other companies don't have the same expenses FD have because that's obviously untrue. So we have FD who like money and will charge where other companies won't. My money goes to those companies, not greedy devs who release cheap content and then charge early access for that cheap content.

To which I agreed with you and added the point that I wasn't berating early backers as they had paid and couldn't get their money back (not only that, but they also get lifetime updates so why would they want their money back).
