This is an opportunity for apprentice explorers to help out with the Glorious HIP project. See the "Glorious HIPs - 3306" exploration thread for more details.
You will follow in the footsteps of the famous explorer Cmdr Jackie Silver, who was the founder of the HIP project.
It is intended that you will complete sector 51 of the HIP project which was left incomplete by the sudden departure of Cmdr Silver.
A route has been prepared to help, so that you do not need to be troubled with the finer details of the project itself.
All you need to do is to visit every star on the attached route. You do not need to visit the stars in order, but it is recommended that you do so.
Important : You must ensure that you fully scan the star systems and that the data made available to EDSM, or EDDB.
The route starts and finishes at Sol, but it is not necessary for you to actually visit Sol, anywhere in the bubble will be sufficient.
The route does not go beyond 2000ly from Sol, and is approximately 11500ly long. The number of jumps between each star is calculated on the basis of a 40ly range.
Of course, you may plot your own route between each star, and gain exploration data whilst doing so. It is not guaranteed that the stars have not been scanned or mapped previously.
The use of EDMC or EDdiscovery will upload your scan data to EDSM. Alternatively you can upload your log files into the EDSM website directly. Mapping systems bodies is optional.
It is thought that none of these stars are currently in the EDSM or EDDB databases. The aim is make sure they are.
Note that although quite a few stars have HD or HR prefixes, they really do have HIP designations as well.
This is not a race, and is open to all budding explorers. Although the early birds will get the exploration rewards, if any.
It is not too difficult, and should give a purpose to your early expeditions. So, good luck !
PS There is no prize or reward, just the pleasure of helping out.
