Modes WARNING: A new type of trolling.... (MOVING TO MOBIUS)

FD should offer skewers in the store.

$1.99 for one that impales one shieldless Sidey until it logs off, $5.99 for one that holds three, and the kingsgrade $9.99 that holds five, glows rainbow colours, and sends "LULZ" over comms repeatedly to your delightful new decorations.

But you can avoid them by staygin below the speed limit

(Unless they are in a team with a sacrificial high velocity cannon which they fire at you to get you above 100Ms, then ram you with no shields, then, well then, your just screwed, really)

Classic. That's not the only use of the Sidewinder, there are two Reverberating Cascade Torpedoes you can fit on it, to strip the shields of your target for your ganker friends :D So it's useful even if the target is smart enough not to speed. And it's almost for free, so you can die as many times as you wish.

I really think the guys from Frontier are some sort of secret hardcore pvp cult. The whole game design is just nefarious. I mean, Eve Online is easymode compared to the CGs in ED :D

As usual, victim abuse runs rampant...

I sometimes wonder what sort of miserable lives people who have nothing better to do with their lives than rub salt in the wounds of other players must live, but then I decide that I already have examples.

The sad thing is, having rushed to kick the puppy, they will tell me it that they aren't miserable at all.

I like at it like an educational service: don't break the law, kids, or you will be punished.

What's your excuse for being an apologist to criminals and various maladjusted reprobates?

I would disagree with that quite strongly. I'm afraid. There is something malicious about this troll who is hiding out of sight near the slot with no shields, then putting deliberately putting themselves in your path when you both come in and go out. It's like a kamikaze attempt at trolling! What a joke.

Me too!

When I am out at a CG slaughtering innocent CMDR's in unarmed trading ships I of course end up wanted.

Due to my wanted status I have to get into and out of the station quickly when I need to rearm to continue my murder spree. So it really isn't feasible in my predicament to obey the speed limit.

It really irks me when I'm boosting into the station and one of these jokers is just sitting there waiting for me. What kind of lame troll does such things? Thankfully I'm in a fully engineered PVP ship, so I can frequently survive the station attack, but still.

LOL, this is not new. At all. It's been going forever.

If you're playing Open, NEVER EVER exceed the speed limit within the speed limit zone. The speed limit exists for a reason. If your speed is at 99 or below and that suicidewinder hits you, you don't even get fined.

they get their jolly's by doing that. you get them by speeding. your own ignorance of the LAW has cost you. move along!

I was really looking forward to a search and rescue CG too.

You have a few options:
- fly below 100 m/s inside the no fire zone, this reduces the chance of getting trolled that way but I'm quite sure that they will come up with other methods
- play in Solo and avoid players that don't fit in your personal way of playing the game
- play in Private Group together with friends who play the game in a similar way than you

<saltfarming on>
- block the player who rammed you, that should greatly reduce the chances of getting into the same instance
- play in Moebius, a curated private group (or better, multiple groups)

[hehe]

And stop breaking the law and you wont get killed. 100 m/s speed limit is for your safety and all the other commanders around you.

The 100m/s is a pseudo-solution that replaced the previous method of griefing (ramming others directly to death) with a more insidiuous one. And it's not even as if this method of griefing came to anyone's surprise; well, except FD, apparently, because they ignored every single warning that predicted that exactly this would happen as a result. And look at us now, station griefers still grief, just with a different technique, except now some bystanders feels extra smart by victim blaming and saying "don't speed then, your own fault". Hint: the more elaborate forms of this griefing even push people who *are* flying below the speed limit over said limit, too. You'd have to absolutely crawl around anywhere in a station's NFZ to be safe, and even then I am not sure how safe you actually are, some of these force shell cannon loadouts can add quite substantial velocity to their victims...

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd timeout. Please hold those thoughts whilst we get the mop and bucket...

EDIT: Okay, let's see if we can continue to discuss the topic without the sniping and baiting remarks eh? ;)

I'm just here to be nice and say this is not a new type of trolling. THis has existed since the speed limit... Which was itself put in place for trolling.

I'd post my own experience where I was inside the speed limit but sadly I scanned the cmdr so their name is visible and I cannot post the vid here.

None of the mechanical changes Frontier have made in an attempt to stop the various forms of station griefing have had any significant effect on it. It's about time they start just issuing bans.

In the meantime, don't forget about the block function. And don't sweat the vitriol speaking out about griefing often attracts, most people do understand that it's a problem.

Since FD put the speed limit in place, every cmdr is perfectly safe from this kind of trolling. More daring cmdrs can chose to ignore the limit and risk their ships, if they so want. Irresponsible cmdrs risk chose to break the limit, risk their ship and blame others. FD put a 100% bullet proof anti-troll mechanism in place, and it works absolutely every single time. If you are willing to take responsibility for your own actions and your ship, that is. There simply is no denying it.

It's just standard station griefing report the player if you feel the need, you can also block them so you are much less likely to see them in the game. You could also try submitting a ticket to support and they might reimburse you (be polite).

Info on blocking : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ners-advice-on-dealing-with-griefing-(part-2)

Lolwut?

Did the cmdr commit anything disallowed in game? What are you going to report him about? About speeding?

PG? SOLO? Space engine? You have other options.
