Oh I've been fooled in-game very recently - got backstabbed by a scoundrel who blasted my weakened-by-a-thargoid Conda. Learned from that one too
Although not known by many of her fans, as well as others in the music industry, rock-n-roll legend, Grace Slick, is an avid Elite Dangerous player. On any given day, you can find her busting the highways of the Milky Way in her Anaconda, engineered to the hilt.
In my recent interview with the former lead singer of Jefferson Airplane (and Jefferson Starship), I broached the subject of griefers and gankers in Elite Dangerous.
Me: So, what mode do you play in Elite Dangerous?
Grace Slick: Open.
Me: But then, according to you own statements, you avoid PvP. If you do that, why play Open Mode?
Grace Slick: Because the TM energy is there. Everyone's energy is combine there, even if we ain't seeing each other. And all the energy is good, even when it's bad energy from gankers and griefers. It expands our mindset. Once the energy opens your mind, you see things in a different light. I mean, when I first started playing Elite Dangerous, I was very patriotic. Now that my mind has been open by the energy of Open Mode, I'm now starting to say, "Hey, when is my county gonna pay me taxes?". You see, you can be in a crowd and still be solo. That way you can input, can contribute, and then run away and hide again. It's all part of the overall picture, the final outcome.
Me: Do you have any words of advice for gankers and griefers? Any personal message you would like to convey?
Grace Slick: The only thing I would say to gankers and griefers of Elite Dangerous is the same thing I would say to anyone. If you're gonna put your hands on anyone, it should be with the intent to make love. Instead of blowing up poor noobs, suck a blotter of acid, drink a few brews, and start really enjoying the pretty colors of Elite Dangerous. And when you see the famous "o7", just fly the hell out of there in the other direction, but send them good energy. Hey, like I say in the song, "We built this city, we built this city on Rock-N-Roll". Total sweet energy to all my Elite Dangerous family members.
