WCCFTech - Odyssey Interview - From the Darkness of Space to the Light of Uncharted Planets

Although the interviewer's questions and terminology give the impression he thinks it's going to be some sort of 'team based arena FPS game' tacked onto ED, the answers from the Frontier developers here and in other information they've released so far don't seem to suggest that at all. It sounds much more like an extension of the game's existing mechanics for missions, trading, combat, exploration, etc. but extended to in-person as well as the current in-ship. Of course, as with the current game, there'll be the possibility of players confronting each other directly in some circumstances but the emphasis seems to be on continuing the predominantly PVE theme.

For those players out there still hoping after seven years that FD will redesign this space adventure game into a PVP gang-warfare game, the wait continues 🙂

Is there going to be any weather system affecting players and/or their ships on planets, such as thunderstorms or dust storms?

" At launch, Odyssey will allow players to land in thin atmospheres which won’t have aggressive weather fronts of this kind "

Tinted sky-box confirmed

Form Floating confirmed!

Question - on the (admittedly extremely rare) days I look up here in Scotland and there's not a cloud in the sky, is it just a tinted sky-box?

Big credit to the interviewer, they went to the sub and asked for community questions to put in the interview. The interview also seems to hint that new vehicles (something I really, really want) may come with Odyssey:
Seems more like the vague non-answers that FD usually give out. Don't get your hopes up just yet.
Thought it was kind of interesting that they didn't give an outright 'no' to this question.
See above. ^^^
Concept art is just that. Concepts. How many times have we seen concept arts over the years, only for a good portion of them to never "come true"?
