We ALL should protest against FDev while stop playing Elite dangerous!!!

To do whatever you want in the game you HAVE to grind otherwise you float around in a Cobra forever.
Is that your idea of fun?

Look, I gave examples of the game and how repetitive it is.
Any one with the normal understanding of the definition of the world would categories the game as such.

As a matter of fact, you CAN do whatever you want in a Cobra. (Or maybe I should say "you can experience everything the game has to offer in a Cobra". Or a Sidewinder, on that matter.) I know several people who play since the launch and never needed a bigger ship.
Naturally, if what you want is Anaconda in 24 hours, you're going to have a problem...

Lemme go do some bounty hunting at the CG in open in an unengineered Cobra then.

Oh wait, I've died so quickly and so hard it sent me back in time and I'm here writing this post right now.

This what I have always though of grind:-

https://www.techopedia.com/definition/27527/grinding

I never said that there isn't grind in the game, but it is certainly a choice.

As to the plasma charger. You don't need that weapon, you want it and grind to get it. That is your choice. The game hasn't forced you to get that plasma charger and getting that plasma charger doesn't open up any other gameplay for you.

Ok, so you just think the game forces you to grind if you want to access it's content, is that what you are saying? I thought you could do everything without grinding?

If you wish to have an un-engineered Cobra with poor rep and influence and the same credits that you start with then yes, you can.
I would say you where stupid though to part with your money!!

I'm sorry, I just can't go with the OP, I have had no problems, simply because I don't look for exploits. I play the game as I like it (probably as it should be played for a lower skilled player), I've had the big ships, but don't like them, so I've dropped back to medium, and as a result I've enough creds to do whatever I like. I'm probably in the minority, but I've no problem with the engineering now (I think it's better), I can see how the wing missions are encouraging social aspects, and I'm looking forwards to the Q4 when the explorers get some new toys, Oh, and the mining is better now too.

If a mission has poor rewards, don't do it...where's the problem?

To be honest and blunt, if you are only interested in exploiting the missions, then it's you who is breaking the game, and I simply will not support that.

Fly safe all o7

Not a bad post, OP. Some good, some - well - we'll just have to agree to disagree. Have some REP.

That said: in the same vein as your post my personal gripe is with the overly rapid decay of relationships - not so much with factions as it is with the super powers. I play ED regularly on the weekends. Not so much during the work week. I can end a weekend being allies with the Federation at 97% plus. Not play ED until the next Saturday and - voila - I'm back down to 75% with the feds. What the H.ELL! That' total . Not right. Same thing happens with the Empire and Alliance if I'm working with them. It can take the better part of a day to get back my allied status and that sucks!

I can understand it if I was going off and working for the Empire or Alliance - not a big fan of butterflies - but when my fleet is parked in a federation system and on a federation controlled station - no way should I lose my allied status in just 5 days. No - g - way!

There is variety, but accept there needs more, and I agree that the reward needs balance as well. But even so, ED has enough variation to make grind an option.

It isn't optional, to progress involves repetitive activities, that fact that there isn't any variety with the mission types makes it even worse.
Name one thing in the game which doesn't involve a repetitive action to progress

Memory might be a bit off but have not the ship/module prices not really changed much since launch ? Credit income rate already seems to have hugely increased imo. A single skimmer kill on mission 700,000 ? wth.

I suppose if you get an A-spec Corvette destroyed every 5 minutes you might need 300 Mcr an hour ?

How would you make 300 mill an hr while getting your ship destroyed every 5 minutes?

And wow 700,000! Only 703.63 more missions (that's literal, do the math) and I can buy the Armour for the Cutter. Yay!
