We can’t shift the large Cargo containers?

Strapped to the sides of outposts, being driven around the coriolis stations and occupying adjacent landing pads - we see giant cargo containers.
Probably the same size as a class 3 or a class4 cargo rack.

Currently for the last 6 years our ships have only had the ability to interact with single units of cargo and not these massive bulk freight containers.

Would it make a difference if our ships could eject such containers?

Pirating could be made efficient with bulk collection and thieving.

Large ships could drop off the freight onto outposts collection pads.

I can’t think of any real Purpose.
I just find it odd that we are hauling these small things around and yet the space stations have something entirely different, especially with regard to the outposts, what purpose does these massive containers have at an outposts.
who are ferrying those containers there, who are ferrying them around the outposts and who is ferrying them away from the outposts.

Mega ships move and load those cargo containers... What us players move is peanuts...
There also 2/3 attached to FC as well...
The mega ship mega corps dont deal with small change cargo... They deal with multi hole planet cargo supply runs...

Check out any of the megaships you see in the nav panel when you go to a system. The xxx-haulers look most container filled, but there are a bunch of different ones. The reformatory ones are the most sci-fi looking, and agriculture have the cool domes on them. They move on alternate Thursdays, but have a six weeks cycle, if memory serves. The icon looks like an X within a circle, and they're not in all systems, but are really nice assets, as are the installation sites. They don't move, and look like a big X in the nav panel.

Hope that helps :)

There's no point in our ships carrying them since they're filled with the standard cans we already haul.

Larger containers are just full of more canister filled containers.

Imagine if we could fly the mega cargo container ships.

It would take goodness knows how long to stop the things when approaching a destination.

"Skipper, approaching destination."

"Number One, you better not overshoot the orbit, I don't want to spend a week circling back again and miss the deadline! You'll be on the beach if you do!"
