Week 22: Thargoids attacking CW Ursae Majoris and Kamadhenu

Dhanhopi was attacked this week, Bok was saved.

New Targets confirmed as CW Ursae Majoris (nice and close to Sol) and Kamadhenu, both have NHSS and wrecked Megaships (useful for interceptors).

There are interceptor-grade NHSS in CW Ursae Majoris, only scouts in Kamadhenu.

Aegis ships are in both systems - be aware that if the target locations for Thargoid Massacre missions are in other systems they will not count to save the systems.

Yes. Kamadhenu is the Headquarter of Arissa Lavigny-Duval.
.
Indeed it is. Now the bugs've gone too far. I don't have any tech broker thing unlocked, I have no ship properly set up, but I guess I can slap some AX weapons on my Krait or Type 10.
.
So what can I actually do? The first thing I found is this thread:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...tacks-Where-When-and-What-you-can-do-about-it
.
Does it really boil down to that? Pick up massacre missions against Thargoids? Also, it writes that Kamadhenu only has scouts. Against those I already did a bit of fighting with regular weapons and were able to kill them. Is that still true? So, are regular weapons preferable to AX weapons?
.
(Also, guess it's time to kick some of my friends awake, telling them that I need fighter pilots this weekend... )
.

OK, I think it is time for me to get stuck in to defend humanity...

Is there a recommended bug-hunting build for a small ship? Preference would be a Viper mk4 or an Eagle (I like them stop mocking) but push to Krait if really, really necessary.

Viper Mk IV is a fantastic choice against scouts.

Going to have to try some thargoid hunting when I get back to the bubble haven't done it before. Which is the better ship for it. Anaconda, corvette, cutter or type 10?

The Anaconda and Type 10 are the two that can fit 4 large AX/Guardian weapons, so they have the edge if you're going after anything larger than scouts. There's plenty of room left over for flak cannons with both.

My 1st attempt at Zeno-Hunting was a flop. Fixed weapons and a Krait aren't going to work out for me. I just can't take on 4+ Bugs and work out my stuffs with the New-to-me AX MC's and Missiles. I am going to put the AX stuffs back on my FAS and have another go.

I wonder if we'll get Imperial Ax ships if the Thargoids are attacking the home system of the Emperor? AX shield generator tech?
Finally an Imperial medium multi-role ship that's good for combat? Two large and four medium HP's. A proper shield tank cause hull tanks have been done to death.
That'd be nice.

I do believe FD have moved away from the Shield-Tank, especially on Medium sized ships. Even the Krait has come with moderate shield levels. I am guessing the FdL is the last of it's kind.

We sorely need an alternative to that ship. It's the go to ship for PVP and many other things combat focused.
It's like a song that gets overplayed ad nauseum on the radio: it's everywhere and everyone seems to like it but me.
It's the ship embodiment of that sickly sweet Ed Sheeran song for 3304. Or just Ed Sheeran full stop. ;)
Giving the FDL a few direct competitors would be no bad thing.
