Weird rendering anomalies

Maybe someone has paid attention to these before and has an explanation. I have never tried going to the center of the galaxy before, since I am not one for "popular" places to visit, and in this, my first trip there, I keep seeing this huge square anomalies, in which either stars are not rendered/missing, or the huge swarm of stars is square shaped. I get to see them everywhere. Is there something I can do, is it my video card's problem, is it something known by the devs that will be taken care of? What?

It is a peculiarity of the way the galaxy was created in ED. Basically, it's generated in a series of cubes and in certain areas of the galaxy there are a high proportion of "bright" (A/B/O) stars. Often, you'll get a sector jam-packed with these A/B/O stars right next to one that contains very very few - and you get shots like you see above. It's not your graphics card, but sadly it is unlikely to be "fixed" as it is simply part of the nature of the way the galaxy was generated.

Yeah, it's exactly that. The thing is, it would be a very difficult problem to solve even if you did regenerate the galaxy: sector edges would still be visible even if you had more gradual changes everywhere, just not as visible as in these edge cases. So I guess the other solution would be an ugly hack to star lights, to artificially lower them near such borders - but that would likely be problematic to implement, and just as scientifically inaccurate as this.

I saw yesterday a perfect cube in the skybox of A/B/O stars only visible from one system, either that or the borg are coming - the galaxy is full of odd places :)

Wow that cube is something to see. I hope this can be tempered later on... Perhaps changing the class of marginal stars. If they can somehow transform it into a sphere, it could be more realistic.

I will show more of the cube in my video log update from my trip (see my signature) I will submit it as a tourist destination however it will most likely will be overlooked, system was undiscovered with ELW so will have to wait until I sell the data to release that info ;)
