I think the new black background look on the forums a huge improvement. I have a few issues with light sensitivity though, so experience tells me there's going to be a lot of people with eyes more normal than mine who won't like it.

it's not a limitation of the forum software. just do away with the forum specific themes and let people choose one throughout the entire forum, it was a silly idea to begin with. job done and no more complaining.

While it's easy on the eyes, I can't stop thinking it's displaying by some "reading for visually impaired" style.
The resulting spacing between Threads in a Sub-Forum feels very wasteful, upto ~60-70% of the Forum display area is empty background/spacers.
I wish there was a Template (Preferences) that would more resemble the old Forum's tighter Information Density.
Sticky Threads aren't highlighted by any means currently (just visible by their small Symbol) , would be nice to give stickies a slightly different color to highlight their special status.
But on the working side, looks okay.

In past, "Members Online" was a display reserved for Mods/Admin, currently including "Everyone", "Members", "Guests" and even Bots.
We currently got it back when viewing the "Frontier Forums", unsure if that's intended.

A "Like" Button ? urgs
Don't think the Faceplant aka Facebook button/icon is a good choice. The old "Add to Reputation" thingy felt far less "Facebook'ey"

while the forum upgrade itself is really good (weldone on that) this theme thing is really jarring going from black to white to black to white making me feel a bit queezy tbh.

Ahh I see, then it looks like some of the former stickied threads have been unstickied in the subforums then.

I seem to remember being told we could log in with either our forum username and it’s password or using our store email address and it’s password.
I have only been able to log in using my store account and password, which I am not happy about at all. Please comfirm or deny that we can login using either, and if we can login using the old forum name and password, why couldn’t I do so? My store account and password, which I only use to login to the game or to buy things should not be something that has to be used for a public forum.
Everyone's avatars are off centre or clipped. The whitespacing is not fun. Oh, and the dark is horrific. If this is somehow an improvement on a forum where user choice and agency was possible for themes, then I’m not seeing it. It is ironic that we posess hardware that is capable of displaying things in colours and ways only limited by our imagination, but that facility is increasingly removed.
Recommending stylish is not a good idea, as it is a known data-harvester and browsing logger: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...dd-on-after-report-it-logged-browser-history/. There are alternatives, like Stylus https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/styl-us/ but really, having to grt busy with addons and style sheets just to read a forum the way you would like to is daft.
I suppose I should be grateful - I am unlikely to waste so much of my time on here when I find it hard to read, and am suspicious of the login mechanism.

That's luckily still possible, I've set the "Elite Dangerous" Theme and enjoy white text on a dark background.
(click on your Name in top right -> Preferences -> Style -> switch to ELITE Dangerous -> Save)
For a Black on White background, choose the default "Frontier Developments" instead.

Hm, the default Black on White strangely stops working as soon as one enters the ELITE SubForums (?)
I guess there's still a little bug there that makes Templates partly stop working/overrides them in specific Sub-Forums.

Its a bit sad when the flat design is so minimalist that it is that easily ignored unless you hover over it...
I posted a thread already, but is there a way I can only see a page of threads I am following with just the unread posts I haven't seen yet? Before I could go into Settings I believe and it would just list line by line the threads I haven't seen since I last looked at them. Then if I clicked on settings again, it would wipe those that I had read and only display the remaining ones I haven't?
Right now I just see the most recent threads, but after reading them, they still remain in the notification and I can't tell anymore what I've read and what I haven't and it's really confusing...

So, how is the bug reporting system improved? It looks pretty much the same to me. I don't see the ability to vote on which bugs should be addressed first nor do I see any additional functionality that would improve the process and improve efficiency. Its possible I missed it but if I did, where are those promised features?
