What 2020 Update "Red Flags" would concern you?

Ouch! Where did they say that?

Probably just means she didn't see the news about Galnet, Community Goals and Interstellar Initiatives being chopped.

IIRC it was an addendum to one one the recent patch notes, possibly the beta one. Or the list with the bugs they would fix in it that was released before the beta.

Ok, found it.

We also wanted to give you an update on the following issue: VR: Double Vision and Incorrect Rendering on HMDs with Non-Parallel Displays (ex. Pimax). At the current time, there are no plans to provide support for new HMDs outside the officially supported systems and platforms. The officially supported platforms are Valve Index, HTC Vive and Oculus.

O7,
🙃

3) the word "Sandro"

honestly, I'm already seeing plenty of red flags. I'm just hoping I'm wrong.

"We're excited to announce that a large part of the 2020 update is the ability to further tailor your game experience by opting in or out of player-on-player damage— in all modes! We feel that this maximizes fun, cooperation, and flexibility while accommodating all playstyles!"

Barf.
That might be the case for some players, not all though.

A downfall of online communication is that I can never fully tell if someone is being facetious or not...

I thought the humour was apparent, but probably more apparently to followers of Star Citizen is the PvP/PvE slider was something they talked about years ago.

Split modes/servers are of course the logical way to go, although in GTA you can enter "passive" mode when in the same instance with other PvP enabled players. Always felt that one a bit strange.

No not specifically..... However they have come out and said they have nothing to say about supporting the newer headsets offically, and on top of that David Braben did pretty much say he didnt think VR was good enough yet to be worth while (I cant remember exact wording but at the time it sent massive alarm bells ringing for possibly planting the seeds for distancing themselves from VR).

I look at the Mac-lads and it really would not be that much of a surprise to me if VR users were not the 2020 updates equivalent to Mac users.

The way I see it, FD could end all the speculation with a simple official statement that, whilst not being prepared to announce anything about 2020 features, that VR support is still a key feature and is going no where.

The fact that FD are radio silent on it to me hints that at the very least continued full VR support is still up in the air, at worst, already decided to be dropped / or at least further support not added. I cant see any upside at all to not putting vr users minds at ease.
The obvious excuse is that the first person Elite Feet view does not lend itself well to VR. Of course, certain people on this forum will say this is a good thing.

As for red flags? It's like the May Day parade in Beijing as far as I am concerned ;)
