What animal families are underrepresented in PZ?

What animal groups or families are the most important for you?

Which one of these animal groups are still underrepresented or not present at all?

In my opinion we have a lot of bears and large cats but still lacking of equids, viverids or suids.

I’m not greedy. I know that most of my beloved animals won’t make it to the game, but if you could choose 3 species from the most underrepresented families, what would they be?


Mine would be:

Monkeys: Mantled guereza, Spider monkey, Red shanked douc

Equids: Somali wild donkey, Przewalski horse, Onager

Tapirs & Rhinos: Malayan tapir, White rhino, Sumatran rhino

Viverids: African civet, Binturong, Fossa (I know it’s not a viverid but it’s close )

Suids: Red River hog, Babirusa, Peccary

Deers: Père David’s deer, Moose, Axis deer

Canids & Hyenas: Manned wolf, Dhole, Stripped hyena

Musteloidea: Coati, Wolverine, Ratel

Marsupials: Wombat, Tasmanian devil, Tree kangaroo.

Large ground birds: Emu, Shoebill, Grey crowned crane

I'd say the most egregious ones (considering this is a zoo game) would be:
-Pretty much every family of bird (excluding the cassowary and ostrich families), 3 other species total
-Viverridae (Contains binturong and other civet species), 0 species
-Herpestidae (All mongoose/meerkat species), 0 species
-Mustelidae (Contains otters, pine martins, wolverines and similar animals), 1 species
-Cervidae/Cervinae (Contains pretty much all true deer species), 1 species
-Suidae (All pig species, such as red river hogs, babirusa and giant forest hogs), 1 species
-Pinnipeds [This is a clade not a specific family but still] (Contains all seals, fur seals, sea lions and walrus), 1 species total
-Callitrichidae (Contains all marmoset and tamarin species), 0 species total
-Atelidae (Contains all howler monkey, woolly and spider monkey species), 0 species total.

I'd bet anyone $100,000,000 USD that if you threw a dart anywhere in the world, and picked a random zoo from that place, they would have at least a combination of animals from at least 6 of these 9 groups I just gave you. It's pretty sad we don't have more representation in this game. Modding gives me hope though.

I know most of my beloved animals won't make it through the game. You should never say . One day they will be. It's just a matter of patience.
