What are NOMAD ships?

Nomad for the uninitiated.

Yeah, just signed up for the same type of "kill nomads" mission and I have no idea what I'm looking for. FD, please be more specific with mission descriptions!

I wonder if their chatter gives them away?

Since NPCs are talkative now.

That said, "Mission Target" will show up when you scan them.

Nomads, you might look for convoys in USSes at a guess?

I think you're right. The other day while passing through an otherwise-uninhabited system there were a couple of NPC ships near the star, making remarks like "No matter how dangerous, we will find a safe place to live. "

So basically the mission is to kill a bunch of people trying to escape civil war. That's pretty hardcore.

Yes, it's all Frontiers fault.

They must have held a gun to your head and made you click on a mission you didn't completely understand ahead of time.

Why so mad bro? Chill out. I was simply stating mission description is a bit vague, I didn't about the mission or made a big deal out of it or accuse FD of my taking the mission. What?! You dyslexic or something? Did divine providence grace you with a special understanding of my post even I wasn't aware of? For some reason, the more I read your statement, the madder I get. People like you with statements like that up forums.

Yep, but thats a good point about elite. You can be good or evil. I find the whole Archon Delaine faction pretty hardcore as well ;).
I am more for the good stuff, so I only kill pirates and leave nomads, authority, bounty hunters and traders alone ;). I have seen some nomad missions but don't accept them. I believe DrakeAurum is correct, that "safe place to live" chatter sounds like nomads.

Fly around and scan ships until you find one with 'mission target' in red letters on the bottom left corner.

Feel free to report back to the forums as to who they are.

On a similar note I accepted a job to kill 7 activists.

No idea what they are I scanned everything in SC for over hour, dropped into USS etc nothing flagged as a mission target. I also interdicted and killed anything that was dropping comms to me with no success either. Got a fantastic bounty to keep hidden for the experiment.

So avoid those activist missions unless someone has a confirmed spotting :)

With the new bounty system anything other than pirate ships is too much hassle if your care about being locked out of that system.

Bounties aren't that bad. I'm with Archon Delaine, and in his HQ in Harma I have a 137k bounty. I still go there quite regularly, just act like a smuggler would. Not that smuggling's hard.

I'm wondering the same thing myself about these nomads. But I won't accept the mission until I know what they are. That's just asking for trouble. I don't take a mission unless I completely understand the objective, and in the case of a kill mission, know what the target is. Occasionally, I'll miss completing one, but not often.
